I entered the house and surprisingly, no one asked me for my cell phone yet.

-Layla, come here. We need to talk. – My father called me.

I looked back and they were with a serious face, what were they going to tell me? That question was on my mind while I walked towards them.

-Yes. – I showed no expression to them.

-Your mother told me that you don't want to go the university is that right?

It was now, the time to finally talk to them and say everything that was on my mind, and everything that I wanted to do with my life. This was the moment that if they messed up or I messed up all was going to go down the hill.

-That's true. I want to finish school, and go study and work aboard. To be more specific, I want to study Korean and became a fulltime writer, living in South Korea.

-You're out of your mind, young lady! Do you think that you are good enough for that. Don't be ridiculous! You're going to study hard, go to the university and then find a good job. That way you're going to be able to build your own family, have a house, a car, children, and be happy.

-What? Why do you think that that it's what I want? – at this point, tears run down my face. – That is your definition of happiness! Do you actually care about how I feel?

-What kind of question is that? We want what's better for you! What would the society think if we let you do what you want?

That sentence broke me...

-What? I can't believe that you are more worried about what the society thinks than with how I feel. Did you at least paid any attention to me these days, no, through all my life? I have been miserable and every time I came to you in need, you never believe in me and don't care! I am always the problem to you! I'M DONE WITH THIS LIFE! – I screamed and went out of the door not looking behind.

I open the house gate and start walking, it was already night, I don't know where I was going, at that moment I just hoped a car would run over me and put an end to my life. So, I started walking in the middle of the street. After some time walking aimlessly, I fell on the ground and hurt my arm. There was a lot of people around me, I only hid my face and cried. Suddenly I heard the sirens and the police, they were grabbing my arms to prevent me from hurting myself with the panic attack I was having. They called up an ambulance to take care of me, as soon as the ambulance arrived they bound my arms so that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't hurt myself.

Then the police came into the ambulance and asked me to unlock my phone and to point to someone they could call. I immediately pointed to Thalia's number. She was the only one that was going to be capable of helping me, even though I broke my promise, even though I hurt my self before calling her. She was the one that was going to understand.

It didn't take long for the police officer enter the ambulance again and tell me that my father was coming. That made me lose my mind, I tried to get out of there, they stopped me, they held me against the ambulance stretcher, and told me it was all going to be okay and that Thalia was coming to. Somehow that made feel a little calmer.

When they arrived, Thalia was the only one who could go inside the ambulance. She grabbed my hands and asked me to open my eyes.

-Layla, look at me. I'm here, everything is going to be all right. My mom is outside talking to you father and one police officer. No one is going to hurt you anymore.

I raised my eyes to her and said:

-I tried, I talked to them, but they were only worried on what the society would think, and...

I stopped talking as someone got inside the ambulance. It was the female police officer.

-May I ask you what is going on? You are her friend so there is no one better to tell me.

Thalia looked at the ambulance door that was open and she could seem my father perfectly. The police officer understood and closed the door. Now that no one could listen the conversation or see what was going on inside, Thalia started to tell everything. But literally everything, I've been telling her about my life.

The police officer didn't say anything, she got up from where she was sitting and went out of the ambulance. The paramedic told us I needed to go to the hospital even though I was better, they still needed to take me. Thalia asked if she could accompany me, they said yes.

That was the first time that someone really heard me and cared about how I was. Arriving to the hospital, it wasn't the first time I was there, so the doctor told me that she could only discharge me if I signed a paper and promised that I wouldn't do it again because this time I was registered as an attentive of suicide. I signed the paper and she gave me some medicine to keep me calm, and discharged me. As I was getting out of the hospital Thalia was waiting for me at the front door.

She looked at me and said:

-Layla, let's go home. To my home, that from now on is going to be yours too.
