In a ship, in the middle of space, hundreds of people slept in capsules through the whole journey of 14 years. Except two of them. Rick and you somehow were woken up before anyone else, with many years of travel ahead. You just thanked whatever god was out there for not leaving you alone on this scary situation.

Surely, if Rick wasn't awake as well, you would have lost your mind from the first day. He comforted you every time you had a panic attack or felt terrified for being trapped for so long.

He did so much for you that you needed to repay him. You got up from your bed and stretched. "Good morning passanger 837!" A robotic female voice greeted you in a gentle tone. After her simple words, you zoned out, tired of hearing the same dialogue every single day, the dialogue that you would be possibly hearing for the next 14 years.

Rick was already awake and trying to force the door open. He needed fuel, a lot of it, to acomplish his goal of getting you out of that ship.

"Just open damn it!" He grouled as he punched the metalic door and regreting it instantly. "Rick, are you alright?" You ran to him and kneeled down with him.

"Oh, you're awake..." He whispered shyly. You looked at his fists, blood was coming out of his hand. "Shiiiiit..." He muttered. You softly took his injured hand on yours and examined it. He had cuts on his knuckles. Though non of the wounds looked infected, you quickly accompanied him to one of the multiple bathrooms and grabbed the med kit.

"Hey, I'm fine, no need to worry" He chuckled nerviously. You cleaned his wounds to wash out the blood and wrapped his hand with a bandage. "Thanks..." Rick broke the uncomfortable silence that started when you began treating his injuries.

"Hm...?" You looked at him curiously. "No need to thank me. Anyone would help someone who's hurt, right?" You asked. "No, it's not as common as you may think. My work on Earth got me seriously injured many times, and I had no one to take care of me. Not even doctors, they just told me what medicines to take and that's it" He tried to fake a smile.

You caressed his hand in hopes of comforting him, only making him flustered and red in the face. "So far you're been the nicest person I've met, not that I think I can find someone nicer" He giggled. You giggled as well while you blushed.

"You're really nice as well. You've done a lot to me and I want to show you my gratitude" You smiled. Another silence, only this one felt comfortable.

You saw a spark in his eyes as you both stared at each other with a soft smile. "Uh... What if we go get some breakfast? You must be really hungry after all that work" You suggested, still flustered. "Sure, that sounds good!" He chuckled.

For the next of the morning, you talked and enjoyed your breakfast as good friends, and hopefuly, something more.
