"Nine one, one, emergency. What's your emergency?"
"My daughter, my daughter is bleeding. She is not waking up."
Rebecca, Isabella's mom, looked over at me with tears in her eyes. I looked at the small book I was holding and then looked at her. I put it down and looked at Rebecca. Rebecca had decided to call me. I guess I was the first person she thought of. You could see the ambulance car parked outside the building. Drew was in Bella's room. His hands were on his face. He was red, furious, and sad. David, Isabella's dad arrived a few minutes after me. He got inside without knocking on the door.
"Where is she?" He asked looking at Rebecca
"they already took her" Rebecca replied.
"What happened?" he asked.
"I'm not sure, I just got here. I was at work. She wouldn't pick up the phone. We had to have lunch together and I thought she was taking a shower. I decided to come so I can leave some files at home." she explained
David walked up to Drew and wrapped his arm around him, "it's not your fault"
"I should have taken care of her. We were becoming a bit closer now." Drew cried
"This stuff happens, son."
Rebecca walked out the door and headed toward me. I was sitting in the bed still holding the yellow small book.
"What do you have there? " Rebecca asked
"This is hers." I showed her the book. It had a pink flower pen on the side. It was yellow with a big sunflower in the front. The pages had brown designs all over the page and it had a cent of a delicious perfume on it.
"I remember she would write on it every day, or at least ever since I took her to a psychologist," she told me
"Have you ever passed an eye through it?" I asked. Rebecca shook her head in negation.
"It has blood on one of the pages and a suicide poem."
"how do you know it's a suicide poem?" she asked.
"he gave himself an A and a slash on each damned wrist And he hung it on the bathroom door because this time he didn't think he could reach the kitchen." I started reading the poem. "I remember she told me about it. It's called a paper, a boy, a poem. It was from her favorite book"
"do you think she did it intentionally?" her mom then asked me
"do what?" I asked
"you know... The accident."
"no, the page was in the middle. She wrote a little more lately. She had many pages like this. She had a lot of pages in which she would explain how she wanted to die. It even says she took pills and some toxic liquids to die, but nothing happened to her."
"did you know she cut?" she then asked
"of course. I told her never to do it again but she wouldn't listen to me" I explained
"She was a really stubborn girl," Rebecca laughed softly with tears on her face. "but did she do it on purpose, this time?"
" I don't think so. Her last page explained how happy she was and that it wasn't a bad year, after all."
We stayed in the apartment for about one more hour and then headed to the hospital.
Marley, Sam, Klaus, and Sasha came to visit as well. I glared at them but knew the three of them were important to her. I walked over to them and decided to talk to Klaus. He was the only one who I was okay with.
