Namor floats gracefully underwater watching his beautiful nation of Talokon. He watches as the beautiful ball of light rises above the temple brightening up his whole nation clearly. He was proud of bringing the sun to his nation. For 500 years he made it important to keep his people safe . The risk that his people now may have been exposed to the outside world scared him abit, and he needed to have control and power if it came down to that .His mind suddenly wondered to the girl who was held as a prisoner.
He thought about her lips and eyes since the last time they spoke. She possessed his mind on the daily. He had forced himself to stay away but felt a strong pull toward her. The pull becoming stronger each time he saw her. I need to see her. Maybe it's about time she saw our nation. He thought to himself while gliding against the water traveling through the city. As he approaches the ocean current, the harsh winds guide him to the surface. He closes his eyes hearing a voice in his head. You are the child with no love. They echoed in his head everyday.
Was Namor fighting himself on something he was told he never could have?
He wasn't sure but all he knew was that he had to get a glimpse of her face again. As he approaches his hut onto the surface he steps out of the water. The sounds of panic voices sound nearby in a tunnel and he quickly goes to follow it. Namor comes to a halt to the familiar secrete caves of wonders. He watches as warriors surround someone on the floor. He walks over to see her laying on her back facing the ceiling gasping for air.
Her skin was slowly turning blue. He quickly goes to her side and locks eyes with her. He sees her eyes looking back at him before she takes a breath and stops breathing. "What happened?" Namor asks as he feels her cold skin. "Le páak'alo."(the plant) One says and he looks up at the alter. The blue plant sits there gleaming and a exposed piece is broken off. Namor stands up. "Ba'ax úuch yéetel Jach yila'al le prisionero." (What happened to keeping an eye on the prisoner) None of them say anything and Namor clenches his fist.
"Take her to the water quickly!" Her body is limp as they pick her up, and carry her to the water. They place her into the water gently and her body floats to the bottom. Namor watches in anticipation as her body floats deeper into the ocean. Suddenly, the pool water lights up like a bright light . The warriors watch in shock as the light gets brighter and after a minute, she finally comes up from the water gasping for air. "Help me!" She says as she thrashes around. Namor quickly goes to retrieve her picking her up as she shivers in his arms.
"Your safe now." He says and she locks eyes with him again. Asha held a lot of mixed feelings about the man who held her in his arms. She didn't know if she should curse at him or push him away. At the same time she sensed a feeling of comfort and warmth radiate from him. "Thank you." She whispers before suddenly passing out in his arms again.
Ashas pov
I flutter my eyes open as I see a ceiling. I take a breathe and go to touch my throat. I'm alive? I get up slowly and look around realizing that I'm in a familiar hut. I then step outside to see the mysterious presence of the man sitting on the edge of the pool waters with his back facing me. He must of sensed my presence because he turns around to look at me.
"Your awake." He says as he stands up and faces me now. I fold my arms holding myself. " I thought I died. But I- I wanna thank you." I say looking to the floor. "For saving me." "You already thanked me before you passed out. " he replies and I blush and cover my mouth. " I'm not to sure what happened or how any of this happened." He stares at me before looking toward the water. " You ate from our plant. Our secrete plant which contains vibranium." He says and I raise eyebrows. " Honestly, I don't know why or how it even happened.. I heard this melody and it was calling me... ?" He looks to me again. "Calling you?" He asks and I nod my head. " Yes, like I was under a spell- it's like I was there but wasn't?." I say confused." I can't explain it.".
"That plant is our foundation our DNA. The rain Gods blessed my people with this. We are here because of this plant and you just ate a piece of it." I am not to sure what to say so I walk closer to him. " Why can't I just go home?" I ask in a whispered voice and he avoids my gaze. "I told you why. I need Wakanda to side with me." He replies and I shake my head. "Wakanda will never surrender to you." I bluntly say. " You've already proven how evil you can be by killing our queen!" I yell and he clenches his fist before he looks to me.
" I did what was necessary for my people. Your princess made her choice when she escaped and killed one of my people. I won't hesitate to.." He slowly walks closer to me and I back away almost tripping over something behind me. I notice his face softens when he locks eyes with me again. In his eyes I see something I've never seen before. Almost like a softness and warmth. So, I decide to ask a question. " W- why me?" I ask curious and we prolong eye contact for a long time untill suddenly his leaning closer to my face. I stay frozen and hitch my breath as he leans forward and his mouth is finally next to my ear.
"Maybe it's because I find you fascinating." He whispers and suddenly I feel myself burn up in my face. He backs away and I'm at a lost of words. Did he just flirt with me? I say nothing as we stare at teach other. After a minute I speak. " I-i think I'm gonna go." He doesn't say anything still staring at me and I slowly walk away almost running and lock myself away in my hut.
