- "No way. There's no fucking way."

"Is this even real?" I couldn't answer.

"I need to go."

"Wait. Let me come with you. I don't think it's best to confront them alone."

"Sure." I didn't have the time to argue or negotiate. I quickly got in my car, fueled with rage, and sped off to my place.

Sylvie had my phone and kept checking the live footage to make sure he didn't leave and didn't touch or take any of my things. I was disgusted, disappointed, and ashamed in Khloe. I thought I could trust her with my life. People like her are the main reason I don't allow people to be with me often. I always end up heartbroken or betrayed. After a few minutes, I rushed through my complex door, entered the elevator, and impatiently waited as the image I saw kept rushing through my mind. Once the elevator reached my floor, I rushed through the hall as Sylvie desperately tried to catch on. I opened my security app and unlocked the door. I threw the door open as Jules and Khloe both jumped from the couch.

"Aaron?" Khloe says.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I shout.

"I thought you said he'd be home late today," Jules whispers loud enough for me to hear.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!"

"What are you doing here Aaron? And why is she here?" Khloe asks, pointing at Sylvie.

"Are you really in any position to ask any questions?"

"Why are you here? I thought you'd be back in the evening?"

"I thought so too until I got a notification from my alarm system telling me that someone's in my house."

"What?"

"Don't act so stupid. I get a notification every time someone unfamiliar enters. I didn't think much of it until I realized that someone was my soon-to-be ex-friend's coworker who she's been fucking in my own fucking house!" Silence filled the room as Khloe looked around for cameras. "You don't seriously think I'd have an unprotected home, right?"

"A-Aaron, wait, I can explain."

"There is no explanation, Khloe. I can't seriously believe you. And you?" I say and turn to Jules. "Do you go and sleep with all the women you manage to befriend?"

"Keep me out of this man. I ain't mean it like that." All I wanted to do after hearing his voice was punch him and maybe even kill him. Sylvie grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Don't do anything stupid, Aaron. People like them aren't worth it." Sylvie says.

"And what type of person am I, bitch?" Khloe shouts.

"Bitch?! At least I don't go to other people's houses and use their fucking beds to sleep with their coworkers?"

"At Least I don't cheat on my boyfriend with his best friend?"

"Enough! All of you just shut up!" I was pissed, angry, disgusted.

"I can't believe you'd be back with her after everything we've been through." I look at her in disbelief.

"Get the fuck out."

"Are you serious-"

"Get the fuck out for fucks sake! I don't ever want to see you again or your little fuck-buddy! Leave already!" I open the door and point my hand out. She grabs her bag and stands at the door with Jules.

"And your shirt?"

"Keep it. I don't know or want whatever type of shit it's covered in anyways."

"You know that you're making a big mistake, right? You need me-"

"I don't need anyone! For once just shut the fuck up!" I slammed the door shut as I was getting annoyed by her presence. Sylvie came behind me and placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Let's take a seat." She guides me to the couch and hands me a glass of water.

"Are you ok?" She asks. She sounded sincerely worried and concerned. I looked at her face as it glowed. I've said it many times before but her beauty was truly inexplicable.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Thanks. Sorry to bring you into all of it."

"Don't apologize. Do you have some tea I can make for you?"

"Yeah, um...There are a few in the cupboard near the microwave. Top left."

"Be right back." I took my suit off and threw my head on the couch. Suddenly, I got a phone call from the lieutenant. I picked up and sighed.

"Lieutenant."

"Counselor. Have you seen Detective beck?."

"Yes, she's with me. We had a case to wrap up in court and some leads to follow." I knew it was a lie. I can't tell him that we'd done absolutely nothing.

"Finish whatever you're doing soon and come back. We found some footage and DNA." I was surprised to hear how quickly they found evidence.

"Ok, I'm on my way." I hung up and told Sylvie as she brought me the tea.

"I'm going to wash my face if you don't mind. I just feel sweaty."

"Yeah sure, go ahead." I sit back and think about what happened and how the past few days were.

I never thought Khloe would do something like this. I wished Sylvie didn't recommend that I return home after finding Lily. Or maybe I did. I should have kicked her out. That's when it hit me... How did Sylvie know that Khloe was at my place? We didn't speak to each other, and I didn't drink too much to forget what I would have told someone. I never told Sylvie that Khloe was at my place...

"I'm ready. Let's go." She says, exiting the bathroom and grabbing her vest. I didn't know whether I should have asked her or not. Was she dangerous? "Aaron?" I was running out of time. I needed to ask her now.

"How did you know Khloe was at my place?" I ask, standing up.

"What do you mean? Your camera was pretty clear-"

"Don't fuck with me, Sylvie. You know what I'm talking about. How did you know that Khloe was at my place when we found Lily's body?"

"Because you told me, silly."

"No, I didn't."

"You were drunk. Maybe that's why you didn't remember."

"I slept for hours. It would have worn off. And, how did you know I was drinking?" She stayed silent and placed her vest back down.

"Aaron..." She says, stepping forward.

"Don't take another step," I warned her.

"Just stop it."  I circle to the kitchen as she keeps following me.

"Stay back, Sylvie!" I scream. "Have you been following me?" She remained silent and kept taking steps toward me.

"It doesn't matter. Just think about the positive side of things."

"What the hell are you talking about?! Why..." I started to lose my grip on the counter as everything in the room spun.

"The thing with you Aaron...you overthink too much. Loving you isn't easy." She says as I fall to the ground. I tried my best to open my eyes and all I could see was the door open as someone entered.

"Is he out?" The voice asks.

"Almost. Gave him 3 times the dosage. We'll be alright." Sylvie says in response.

"Good." Before I could lift my head to glimpse the mysterious masculine voice, my body went numb, and everything went black...
