Chapter 3: The Dream

Equipped with nothing, 12 other people standing right next to me, scared, my long red hair braided, and here I am standing on a platform. The bomb goes off, everyone runs to the supply area, killing, shooting each other. I run to the trees, hoping that I will stay alive. Are my eyes playing tricks on me? There, right in front of me, my father, Kaito and my mother, Luchia telling me to not give up. It's very hard not to give up when I see humans I was supposed to protect, die. What is the point of this stupid thing? Is it to see who kills who? Seriously! The only weapon I have are those tranquilizing darts but instead of the sleeping medicine in the darts, there's poison. I have tons of darts and only two straws. Wow. Not surprising. I traveled down the deepest darkest point of the forest. Who's following me? Why am I crying? Why do I hear footsteps? God save me. Mikeru where are you when I need to transform. Ahh!!! Someone touched me! Have I been captured? Why is he muffling me with his hand? Should I kill him? Wait, he is looking at me with such gentle eyes. Why?

"Who are you?" I got my darts ready. Never ever trust a human stranger.

"Relax silly, I don't want to die yet either. My name is Hikaru Domoto. Call me Hikaru okay?"

"Okay. Well since you scared the hell out of me and introduced your self, guess I'll do the same. My name is Sakura Nanami Domoto. Please call me Suki for short." Why is my heart pounding and why does he seem familiar? The only thing I remember about a guy was when I save a boy from a sinking ship. My very first love was him, when I gave him my pearl I never saw him again. Since I don't have that pearl anymore and my mermaid kingdom is being attacked by water demons and dark lovers. 4 days after meeting Hikaru, only 4 are still left alive, either hurt, sick, or in pain they are still slowly dying. All of a sudden two people came by us with very sharp weapons. One carried a bow, one carried a sword.

"Stay by me, don't ever leave my side, I promise I will protect you." If only I knew what to say I would say it. Then he fell. Right on my arms all bloody and an arrow in his chest. The other two were coming toward me their weapons in the air. With my eyes bawling with tears I blew two fast darts at their legs and they fell within a second. Both dead on the ground, I looked at Hikaru's body. "Remember, when you wake up, protect me try to make me remember you. Don't pressure yourself to make my human self see that you are a mermaid princess." Those last words I treasure.

"Please don't die, please don't, お願い (onegai). Hikaru-sama!"

Then I woke up.
