Chapter 10: A Vampire's Bite

It's Monday and Hakura and Erika came to the hotel where my mom worked.
"Hakura, I like you to meet Erika. Erika meet my mermaid friend Hakura."
Hakura leaned closer to me and whispered "Hey is it okay for you to tell Erica about us being mermaids?!"
"Of course it's fine. She has a secret too you know."
"Yes I do. I'm a vampire. But please don't be frightened. I am only a vegetarian I'm also kinda allergic to blood."

"Hello girls how may I help you?"
"Mom. Please meet Erika. She is a vampire that protects mermaids and Pantharassas."
"Pleasure is all mine. Mrs..."
"Erika!!! Are you okay?!!" She dropped her teacup on the floor. Sitting still Erika was grabbing her heart and breathing heavily then fell on the table. Just like what I did when I'm in pain.
Luchia started to freak out. I started crying and saw that Erika's sapphire blue eyes started turning bright red. Her fangs were starting to form too. 'Erika' I thought.
"Blood, I want blood." she said it like she was in a deep trance.
"MIKERU-SAMA!!! HELP US!" Just after I said that I saw a bright light outside. A man rang the doorbell. I ran to open the door. That was no man, that was a teenage looking boy with wings, and he is wearing a Greek looking dress. I realized right away "Mikeru-sama!" I ran hugging him to death. "What are you doing here, you're dead aren't you?"
"Yes I am dead. But I can make myself human when you needed me the most."
"Mikeru."
We ran to Erika and she was still breathing heavily. "She is in the teenage blood wanting stage of her vampire years."
Struggling to talk "Vampires can't age nor die, but we get our memories erased by her."
"Erika, don't talk. Princess Hanon said if you are in pain and you try to talk then the pain gets worse! Just like Mitsuki-sensei."
"It's okay. I'm better." Erika said. Her eyes were the sapphire blue again and her fangs disappeared.
"Don't be so sure about it. Is this 'her' your mother?" Said Luchia.
"Yes. She erases our memories every thousand years."
I couldn't stand it anymore! She is struggling, and if she needs blood she gets blood. "Enough is enough! Let's cut to the chase here, Erica, you need blood no matter what. You are a vampire and you are my friend you were here to protect me and my friends/family. Here, just bite me."
"Sakura. I can never."
"It's ok. Even if I do die, my red Pearl can make a new princess to replace me."
Erica started to cry, "SAKURA DONT!" shouted everyone. Kaito ran to the hotel and Hikaru came too. Erica's red eyes came back and so did her fangs. She was about to run away but she needed me. I grabbed her arm and hugged her. I felt something sharp bite me then something wet came down my neck, she did it.
I fell straight to the ground, but I didn't die yet. The pain did come back though. More severe then ever. My eyes started to open slowly. I woke up on the hotel floor. I saw Erica with blood coming down her fangs. She started crying and apologize to me.
"Sakura. I'm so sorry."
"Erica why are you apologizing? I'm fine." Kaito handed me a mirror and I saw two bite marks with blood still dripping down from it. I opened my mouth and saw two fangs. I dropped the mirror. "Am I a v-vampire?"
"No you're not. Erica's bite was a small bite that will give you those teeth for two weeks. An adult vampire will permanently change you into a vampire." Mikeru explained. "Anyway Suki, I'm just glad you are okay." Mikeru kissed me then hugged me. I blushed. Mikeru became an angel again then disappeared. I walked outside and saw Hikaru outside walking. I ran outside.
"Hikaru. You didn't see it did you?"
"See what? Why do u have fangs? Hmm... are you a vampire?"
"Of course not. I am a merm..." I said angrily. I stopped myself from saying mermaid.
"Sakura! Are you okay? Your neck is bleeding!" When Hikaru said that, my head started to hurt. We both walked down to the beach and sat in the sand. Realizing that my birthday was in a couple days I had to ask him.
"Hey Hikaru. What will you do if I leave and never return?" While he washed the blood off neck he responded:
"Well it would be very quiet here and I can finally get some relaxation done. And my surfing may improve too."
How can he say that?! I slapped his hand and yelled,
"FORGET ABOUT THROWING ME A PARTY AND JUST FORGET LIKE YOU DID BEFORE!!!!"
I ran away crying, then I tripped over a little log. I face buried into the sand I cried. I got up and ran away to my house. Erika and Hakura was standing outside waiting for me.
"Hi Suki!" Said Hakura. I ran inside crying all because of stupid Hikaru, ignoring everyone who try's to talk to me. COME ON HIKARU! I JUST GOT BITTEN MY A VAMPIRE AND NOW I HAVE VAMPIRE TEETH AND MY MERMAID CEREMONY IS IN 4 WEEKS!! How could he say something so mean to a sensitive girl!
