Chapter 12: The Begining

The school bell rang and everyone was walking to class. I got back on land yesterday to prepare for battle. When I walked to school with Hakura and Erika (I always spell her name wrong) I wondered if the humans know about this yet.
"Hey Suki. Look behind you." Said Hakura.
"Um... Suki, me and Hakura will go to class while you talk to Hikaru. Okay?" Erika said in a rushed but calm tone.
"Wait for me!" I turned around.
"Hey Sakura!"
"Ah... um... hey..." I didn't know what to say. Ohh what should I say, why should I say? Hikaru walked down the hallway then stopped. Reaching for something in his pocket, he took out a heart shaped charm.
"Since you are already wearing a locket I got you a charm. Here." He tossed the charm at me. "Sorry if it's a bit late. It's your birthday present, I would've got you something bigger but everything got burned down."
"It's fine." I opened the locket, I was quite surprised. The picture in it carried memories, memories of my first Halloween costume party with him. I dressed as a mermaid and he dressed a lot like Mikeru.
"Arigato. Arigato Hikaru!"
"Jaā, see you in class. Don't be late." He left and winked at me.
'Even though I can't tell you. I love you Hikaru.' I thought.
I ran to class and sat at my desk. We had a substitute sensei that really didn't care about what we are doing. I opened the locket again and closed it. I held it to my heart and small tears were steaming down my face.

"Wow, Hikaru's done it now." Said Hakura.
"Done what?" Asked Erika.
"He gave her a locket charm and the picture has a memory that they both will never forget."
"Okay so? It's true love."
"Remember the Halloween party?"
"No. I wasn't summoned by Mikeru yet."
"Well, Sakura's costume was a red mermaid. Her costume wasn't fake. She was supposed to be a witch but someone spilled water her when we got to the school. Luckily Luchia had some wigs to go with her costume."
"That was just an accident. Not to mention that you fell in love with a teacher."
"Shut up, shut up."
"I think it's sweet. Like sucking up blood when someone dies from suicide."
"Because you are a vampire doesn't mean you have to be negative about people dying."
"Have I gone overboard with the blood thing again?"
"Yes."
"Gomen (sorry). Let's go get Suki and start warning people about the upcoming war."
"Kk."

After Hakura and Erika got me out of my love trance we all ran to the hotel.
"Hello?" I asked. The hotel was dark.
"It's us! Me, Sakura and Erika!"
"Girls over here." Whispered my mom in the corner.
"Okāsan (mom), Taki-san, Nikora-sama, Hippo-san what's going on?"
"It time I told you where your father is honey. Kaito is a Panterrassa and so are you and your uncle Rhito. Panterrassa have the powers to create evil water demons, but also have the powers to make them good. Your father and Rhito-san is assembling the troops of the good water demons." Explained Luchia.
"Yes, you have a brave father. Reckless but brave. Can't believe my brother had to come along too." I turn around and see a young woman.
"Mom. Who is that?"
"She is you aunt Mikaru. She used to be Mikeru's other self before we saved her."
"So Luchia. How much longer till it begins?" Asked the mermaid princess Karen. The other mermaid princesses were here too. Aunt Karen, Noel, Coco, Seira, Rina, and Hanon.
"Why would you ask Luchia that Karen?" Questioned Rina. Karen shrugged.
"The first battle will start very soon. Look outside." Aunt Noel pointed outside. The waves were getting bigger.
"Luchia-sama, should we get our outfits on?" Asked Seira.
"Yes we should." Answered Coco.
"HEY! THAY QUESTION WAS FOR ME!!" Screamed Luchia.
"Let's transform into our armor. We will save the Pichi Pichi Live Start for later."
"Does everyone agree with Hanon?" Asked Nikora.
"Yes." Everyone agreed. We transformed into our outfits. We ran outside and me, Hakura and Erika started to evacuate the area. From the distance we can see the dark lovers (water demons) firing their weapons. I saw Hikaru and he was helping evacuate people. Just as he started to go with the people he saw me. I look completely different from my human self. He shouldn't recognize me.
"Sayonara. I love you." I said to him crying away. Hikaru didn't hear me though.
"Wait don't go there! It's dangerous I don't want a mermaid like you to go in there and get hurt!" Yelled Hikaru. I turned to him and kissed his cheek and realizing that I don't even look like a mermaid at all. Just then, a bunch of arrows were aimed at me, Hikaru stood in front of me then yelled. I closed my eyes but felt a warm light in my skin.
'He protected me' I thought. Another arrow hit my arm. It was only a scratch but it was bleeding. I didn't care about that now. All I care about is Hikaru. He won't wake up.
"HIKARU, WAKE UP!" I carried him to the sea and my pearl glowed. My family was right behind me.
"This is the beginning of the war my dear. Just the beginning." Said Kaito.
