Chapter 9: Legend of the Mermaid's Cave

"Happy Saturday everyone!!!" Yelled the sensei (teacher). I forgot in the actual human world Saturday's students don't have school and they speak English cause it's in America. In the anime world school is on Tuesday-Saturday cause it's in Japan.
~class bell rings at end of day~
"Hey Suki...."
"Hm?" Hikaru was calling me? Seems like there are other girls he rather talk to, since he is SO popular here.
"Suki!"
"WHAT!!!" Can't a girl space out in the end class for once.
"Geesh, mean much."
"Sorry. I haven't been in the best mood lately."
"I think everyone noticed that. You haven't talked to anyone in days. It's not like you and...I'm...uh..."
"Uh what?"
"I'm just worried about you! Anyway, you want to go somewhere with me?"
"Um, sure!"
~couple hours later~
"Where are you going on this fine day, Sakura Domoto?"
"I'm going to hang out with my friend. Wait." I turned around. "DADDY!!!" I shouted. I couldn't leave my number one surfer hanging around, I ran and hugged my father so hard.
"Konichiwa, my name is Hakura, from what Suki said about you, you must be Kaito."
"Sorry otōsan. I got to go meet someone somewhere right now." I said in a rush. It's almost 4:30 and I'm gonna be late.
"See you later sweety." Wait Kaito.
"Hikaru! Over here!" He turned around down from the ocean. I ran to him so fast with my legs. I slipped on the sand, how humiliating. I nearly fell down but Hikaru caught me. Am I seriously blushing again?
"This is what I wanted to show you. About 18 years ago there was a cruise ship here that sank. Not long ago another ship sank, and I was on it. Today is the anniversary of when it sank and my parents death."
I sat down with him. He looks a lot like my dad but younger.
"I'm so sorry for your loss."
"You know, you remind me of someone. Like a person I met on that day." Is he realizing yet? BANG!!! "A thunderstorm is forming, we need to take shelter. There's a lighthouse over there. Let's go." Ugh it's raining! I'm going to turn into a mermaid right in front of him. We both ran to the lighthouse before anything bad happened.

"So cold, so wet." I shivered.
"Here take your clothes off and wrap yourself with this towel."
What, take my clothes off. Well it's better then staying wet. Huh?! He is taking his clothes off too. Oh my. Should I not look. Well too late, already looking. Hikaru is changing into his surfer outfit. I should change too.
"Here's my school uniform. Wear it."
"Okay." I said nervously. While I was changing Hikaru was setting a little fire to keep us warm.
"Be thankful this lighthouse was here, otherwise we'd be all soaked!" There was a sudden pause. "You know, you remind me of someone I met a long time ago. Well I want to see her again, but..."
"WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT HER!"
"Suki what is wrong with you?!" Then all of a sudden, I went mad.
"Ever since I went to your surfing competition all you care about is that special person! I'm sorry that your parents died in the accident but can't you realize that someone actually cares for you here!"
I didn't mean to shout, or be mean to him. It's just... Does he love me or not? Before I knew it he looked at me with angry eyes.
"IT'S VERY HARD FOR YOU TO RELIZE SINCE YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO ......!" 'He interrupted me! How rude' I thought.
When he interrupted me he literally pushed me into the wall and kissed me to keep my mouth shut. I didn't want this yet. SLAP! "You don't need to choose anymore!"
I ran out, about to cry I saw aunt Rina standing next to the beach. I didn't want to leave him but...but... I can't take it anymore. This love is killing me, "OBA-SAN!!!" Rina turned around to see who it was. I went and hugged her, crying. She petted my head and said
"Just like Luchia all over again. It's okay Sakura." I want to tell her what happened but I couldn't. My tears and sadness would let me talk. "Nee, do you want to go to the under water cave with me?"
"Hmm? What cave?"
"Let me show you." We both swam to the cave and there it was. The cave was beautiful. "Beautiful isn't it. Couple of years ago this cave was on land and the humans put candles in it. Want me to tell you the legend?"
"Yes please aunt."
"Ok. So back then, the old pink mermaid princess found a lover but he was in trouble. He was on a boat and giant waves started to form. The mermaid didn't want something horrible happen to him so she decided to risk her life and reveal herself to save him. The mermaid took a candle a led the boy to this very cave and no one knows what happened next."
"So why is there candle wick in the cave, even though the cave is filled with water?"
"When the cave is on land girls put candles with their lovers and their names engraved on the candle. They burn the candle until there is no more wick left. If all the wick is gone then the two lovers will be together." Explained Rina.
"Thanks for taking me here aunt Rina, but I gotta go home to see otōsan and okāsan or else I'm in trouble."
"Jaā, mata."
I wonder if Hikaru is still mad at me. I feel horrible now. As I walk home the sun sets but I also see something else. 'Hikaru' I thought. He is, standing by the koi pond near my house.
Why is he here? Oh no Kaito is right there! Oh what will he say, what will he say? I ran straight to my house and stood in front of Hikaru.
"Uh dad. Um hi! How's it going?" I said nervously.
"Oh , I was going to talk to Hikaru. He said he is going to tutor you on your English, and why are you wearing a guy's school uniform?"
"My clothes got wet." all of a sudden my head started to hurt. "Ahhhh!" I screamed. Before I knew it, I was pulling my hair, grabbing my head and falling. I couldn't hear anything but a sound of muffling voices.
---- Kaito's point of view----
"Sakura!" Oh she isn't waking up! "Luchia, Luchia come here!"
"Kaito, what's wrong? (Gasps) Sakura? Are you okay? Sakura please wake up!" As I look at Luchia's eyes she was crying.
"Luchia." All of a sudden a flashback came to me, but it wasn't my flashback it was Sakura's.

I can see figures. One with a vampire and one with an angel. The angel looks very familiar. Can it be? It is. It's Mikeru! Then who is the vampire? "Sakura." Said the vampire. All of a sudden I can hear Sakura's voice.
"Who are you?" She said with fear.
"My name is Erika. I was assigned to protect you from a really special person." Mikeru showed up right behind Erika.
"Sakura, I have summoned a good vampire to protect you. If you are in pain then you automatically summon her. Please hear my warning, in the anime world please consider her as one of your friends and treat her like a human. Like you she can transform into her vampire self, but the transformation can get out of control.

Is it whenever I touch my daughter, I can see what she sees?

The flashback is gone and my little Suki woke up. "Suki, thank goodness you are okay" me and Luchia said. Luchia took Sakura into my house and Hikaru was standing there. He told me to come closer so he can tell me something.
"So you are asking me to help see who you are and you want me to help you figure out why there is something in human about you?"
"Yes Domoto-san, there is this power that is unexplainable. I would've asked your daughter but she is too hiding something from me."
"Fine then, I'll help you."
"Oh thank you! Wait. Is there a catch to this?"
"Nope."
