Chapter Ten: Mafia Mansion

" I'm kind of nervous." Mikasa whispered to Eren as they stood as the front door waiting for Levi. Eren was too but not for the same reason as Mikasa. She was scared of meeting Levi while Eren was scared of being killed on sight.

"Why? He's my boyfriend... almost." Eren laughed earning an unamused face from Mikasa. Just then, a red car pulled into the driveway.

Levi had previously kept his other cars out of sight from Eren. That was because before Eren found out about Levi's secret, Eren thought he was a mechanic. If he'd seen all of Levi's different cars, hundreds of thousands of dollars each, he would catch on. You couldn't afford all of those cars on a mechanic's salary.

Eren grabbed Mikasa's hand as they picked up their bags and walked out the door. They each brought two small bags of stuff they wouldn't need until they fully moved in to get some of it out of the way. All they really needed to bring in general were their clothes and other belongs that were special to them.

"Hi." Eren yawned as they got into the car. He didn't understand why Levi insisted on a time so early. Twelve was too early for him. Some might argue and say it's already afternoon, but he didn't care; he needed his beauty sleep.

Mikasa also said "hi" and both were responded to with hum from Levi. Eren could easily tell the man was in a bad mood but Mikasa just thought that was his personality. Having said that, they weren't off to a great start.

Within those two months Eren and Levi went on dates, they grew really close. Eren was trying his best to get things back to normal and it seemed Levi wasn't bothered by the whole argument at all; yet, things weren't the same as they were even if Eren pretended.

They didn't talk the whole car ride because Eren didn't want to end up mad at Levi for his attitude or give Mikasa any other reasons not to like him.

By the time they reached the house thirty minutes later, Eren and Mikasa's jaws were on the floor of Levi's car. They thought they lived in a large house, but theirs couldn't even compare to the three-story gated mansion they would be staying in.

Levi silently punched in the code and the gates opened without a squeak, meaning they were well-kept and clean.

The car drove up the stone path to his loop around driveway. When he parked the vehicle, he got out of the car and opened the door for Mikasa before walking around the get the door for Eren. It was obvious he was trying to be as nice as possible to Mikasa, only for Eren though.

"Woah.." Eren grinned and quickened his pace to catch up with Levi and Mikasa who walked a lot faster than him.

"This is away from anything you are to be scared of." Levi explained, opening the front door for the two. "The one casino down on Karanes Street is where everything happens, meaning I won't be here much and you two will have the house to yourselves starting tomorrow."

Eren was kind of bummed at hearing that. He thought that this meant he would get more time spent with Levi but it was actually the opposite. It seemed now he would get less time with Levi.

"There are many rooms, most on second floor, but three in basement." Levi said, shutting the door behind them. Mikasa didn't want to admit it, but she sometimes had a hard time understanding Levi because his accent very heavy. "You choose which to stay in and.. yeah that's it."

"Alright, thank you." Mikasa said, trying to be polite for Eren. Eren himself only nodded with a smile and an "okay" though.

Mikasa and Eren had only begun exploring the house for ten minutes before Levi got bored and went up into his room to change.
