Chapter Twelve: Officially Moving In
Eren's POV
The day went by super fast, unfortunately. Spending time with Levi was something I wanted to do more often. Even though he didn't talk a ton, he still spoke enough to keep our conversations flowing.
We spent most of the day watching films. I did convince him to take us to Starbucks though so I could get my favorite drink: a Mango Dragonfruit Refresher. He, boring and plain, got a black coffee with no sweetener. It sounded disgusting and after he let me try it, it was still disgusting. He finished it though, seeming to enjoy it somehow.
He hated Starbucks though which is why it took some convincing. I don't know why he did, but he took me anyway.
"Can I come back tonight?" I asked while we got in the car. I pulled on my seatbelt and leaned back in my seat.
"Yeah, but I most likely won't be here." Levi said putting the key in the ignition. "It's your house as much as it is mine, now. You don't have to ask me whether or not you can come here."
"Right." I nodded. I was so happy to finally be out of the house for good, almost. Especially with my boyfriend. I know he hasn't asked me out yet, but still. We go on dates, we kiss, he's my boyfriend.
He pulled out of the driveway and we drove back to my house. I wanted to ask him about work but was scared of what the answer would be if I did. I didn't want to fear Levi any more than I already did, even if I didn't show it. It made me feel kind of guilty fearing Levi so much. He was nothing but nice to me ever since we met, even if he's bland sometimes. I have to reason to fear him myself, he told me he would never hurt me.
The drive wasn't very quiet for once. Since the drive was a little ways away, I put my phone on Bluetooth so I could sing like I used to with my grandma. She'd always scold me for turning the music up too loud, but back then I was self conscious about my voice; now I feel that I can sing pretty well and its one of my hobbies.
My favorite artist was Taylor Swift, the main singer I played in the car. However, I really liked Whitney Houston and Elvis Presley though. People thought it was funny that I liked Elvis being in my very early twenties since he is such an old artist, but something about his music was so attaching.
Levi didn't get mad however loud I played the music but I didn't play it very loud anyway. Within the last five minutes of the drive, I turned the music down to ask Levi a question I've had on my mind for a little bit of time.
"Levi?"
"Eren?" He replied not taking his eyes off the busy road. Every night, the roads got really crowded when the Casino opened since it was the only one in town. I've heard there was also a club inside.
"Will I ever be able to like go to work with you?" I asked. I wanted to meet more people, not just Hange. If people there were like Hange, I wouldn't mind going one bit.
"Maybe." Levi shrugged while still looking at the road. He stopped at a red light and looked over at me. "I'm not so sure your sister would let you though."
"She doesn't get to make my decisions for me." I sighed. "I'm an adult you know."
He only nodded and the light turned green. I wondered if Hange could take me if Levi wouldn't. He'd probably get mad but then I'll have already gone, meaning he hopefully wouldn't care from then on if I went.
Suddenly, we were already at my house. I felt my heart sink a little at the thought of having to stay here for a little while, but I needed to get my stuff before I could go back to Levi's.
—
It only took me about an hour and a half to pack all my clothes and personal belongings into Mikasa's car. She got back from Jean's house at around six.
"Eren, you're sure you want to go through with this?" She asked me. I nodded. Of course I was, was she crazy? I needed out of this house and I already felt some connection with Levi that I've never felt with anyone ever.
"Yes, Mikasa." I insisted. "You can't talk me out of it, this is final."
She only nodded and started up her car. We drove the thirty minutes it took to get to Levi's mansion before carrying in all of our belongings.
"He won't be here the rest of the night, correct?" Mikasa asked me when we walked through the large, wooden double front doors.
"Yeah, he's staying all night at the casino tonight. He said that's what he usually does, remember?"
"Right." Mikasa recalled, probably remembering when Levi said we'd have the house to ourselves most of the time.
"Okay.. do you just want to order dinner tonight?" I asked earning a nod from her. "Alright, from where?"
"Uh.. In-N-Out?"
"Oh, yeah!" I exclaimed, remembering how much I loved that place. Their burgers are to die for.
—
It didn't take long for our food to arrive at Levi's doorstep. I handed the delivery guy a twenty dollar tip and took the bag from him, walking back inside to place the food on the table.
Mikasa and I dove in like starving dogs at the food and finished in less than three minutes. We were a total mess, sauce all over our faces as well as grease from the fries.
"Mm.. I should have ordered two burgers." Mikasa frowned causing me to laugh.
"We just ate super fast." I said. "Once the food settles you'll feel full."
"Yeah, but I don't feel full right now and want more burgers..!" She whined, wiping off the food from her face. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Do as you please. You can order more."
: I don't know if this was a good chapter or not and there sure as hell are a lot of typos because I'm super tired so please let me know and correct me in the comments 🙏
