This place was always busy — too busy for this person.

Before, he was just a simple engineer assistant, mainly dealing with paperwork and tasks other engineers found too bothersome to handle — or had no time for. He sometimes even fixed the mistakes his superiors made in their plans.

"Ok... I also published a few papers anonymously. But that's it!" Nothing significant that may be worth the promotion he received.

And what do they do instead of leaving him alone? They promoted him! What for? He asked himself since it happened.

Since why was his work so important to earn him a promotion? Moreover, a set of wings! It was crazy!

"How bothersome..." The young man with golden hair and eyes adjusted the heavy stack of papers he carried. Now he had to deal with this too — participate in annoying meetings with other heavenly engineers. "Just what were they thinking promoting me? Ugh!"

Great! Now, this! Colliding the doorframe, all his papers scattered, covering the golden and white patterned floors.

Seriously! Why did God only use two colors? All gold and white? He really didn't want to criticize their father, but he really should have used some other colors too. It was starting to get boring after barely a thousand years here — not speaking, it was confusing to make everything that way.

"I really should submit a form to change the color scheme a little bit." Albeit, it would be rejected without a doubt — like usual. Angels were just like that. Too conservative sometimes.

"Haah! What a mess." Putting back his thick-lensed, broken oculars, he fixed them by applying some holy power. Starting to gather the papers afterward.

As usual, no one stopped to help him. They all went on their way — or using their wings floated over him — busy like many ants in a vast hive.

"Lord Michael and Lady Gabriel!"

"What are they doing here?"

The angel adjusted his spectacle, raising his head, watching as farther away the two Seraphs walked side by side accompanied by their honor guards — following the main path leading into the heavenly workshop.

They were radiant! Every step of theirs blessed the already brilliant white and golden stone the ground was constructed from.

The engineer can't help but gulp audibly. Seeing Lady Gabriel's brilliance filled him with a momentary sinful thought — some longing he knew well he could never satiate.

Yet, this longing he still carried with himself, buried deep under his duty-filled soul disturbed by a sudden voice.

"Heh! You know you can probably never approach her." Someone spoke from his side suddenly, her tone teasing.

"Not your business." Muttered the sleepy angel as he shot a short glare at the short woman who floated just over him.

She wore the same gender-neutral robes as him, even carrying the same insignia of the Heavenly Engineer corps.

"Chill out! Just teasing you!" She winked with her bright green eyes, her smile, as always, playful.

"What are those two doing here?" Good question, it was not every day two from the four Arch Seraphs descended to the fifth heaven. It was almost unheard of in the past few decades. Usually, they always reside on the sixth "floor" — directing things comfortably from there.

"Who knows...?" The small woman shrugged, annoyed by the stupidity of the question. "Maybe something happened. In the last few months, there has been an awful lot of traffic around here." Much more than was normal.
