Cotl:Rise of the Crownless God

Prologue

I'm am making my way to church with my friend, we both overslept because we were both playing video games until 3 pm, so we were rushing in order to get to church on time

You see where we live is very religious, we live in a small town with a population of about 300 people, my parent was born and raised here, the same for me and my friend also

Even though we are a small town we still have technology, though I have search up about the world outside of our town I have never actually step foot of it, so I guess you could say that this town is isolation from the rest of the world

I guess you could say it is a good thing you would most likely know almost or all of the people here and they would you right? Well... not really, I am kind of a outcast so I don't really have many friends, I mean I only have one but that's it

Of course since my parents are religious I was taught to believe in god, it is not that I don't believe in god it just that since I was basically forced to believe so it kind of make it very difficult but over time I believed mostly

Of yeah I forgot to say my name huh? well people around the town usually call me by a bunch of different nicknames so I guess you can call me Dan, I'm 16 and like to keep to myself

Ok that's enough about me let's continue this story

"Hurry up, Dan" said my friend

" I am, I think we are almost there" I said as I saw the church in the distance

The road was empty since everyone goes to church at the same time so we were running in the street since we don't have to worry about cars

"We gonna make it" I said as me and my friend bust through the door which startled everyone in the church and caused them to turn to look at us

"Umm" I said as me and my friend hear the church bell ring signaling the start of church

We quickly but quietly when to our seats which were by our families

I sat next to my parents

"What took you so long to get here" whispered my mom

"Me and my friend over slept" I whispered back

"Oh" said my mom and dad

After talking to my parents for a little bit we stopped and payed attention to the preacher(idk if that's what they are called)

Time skip to after the speech of the Bible and religious song

After the preacher and singers finished everyone started to funnel out of the room to do whatever they were doing

I sighed since after church all of the kids have to got to school straight afterwards

"Today is going to be a long day" I said as I made my way to my high school along with my friend

Time skip to 2nd period

It was second period and my least favorite class social studies

I was sitting minding my own business when Amy the popular girl in our class walked up to my desk

I wasn't sure what she wanted with me who is a outcast in the classroom but I guess I will find out soon enough

"Ummm do you need something?" I said as Amy stopped by my desk

"Wanna be my friend" said Amy

'...???' I thought

Everyone was looking in our direction including my friend

"Sure I guess" I said ignoring the stares that were aimed at me

"Ok, let's go hang out" Amy said

Before I could respond back my friend put his arm over my shoulder and said "can I join too?"

"Oh, is this a friend of yours?" Said Amy

"Yeah" I said

" ok let's go hang out somewhere after school" said Amy as she walked off

My friend took his arm off of my shoulder and walked back to his seat

'...that was weird' I thought

Time skip to after school

After school was done me, my friend and Amy met up at the front of the school

We all called our parents and told them we were going to be back home later

We all when around shopping, to a cafe, and also we went for a walk in a park

After going everywhere we noticed that it was getting dark so we decided to head back home

My friend went ahead of us while Amy and I stay for a sec to say bye to each other

After we get done saying bye, Amy went back home as I did the same in the opposite direction

Time skip to next day

I woke up to 2 officers busting open my door, this of course scared me and caused me to fall of my bed onto the hard floor with a big thud

As I got up to see why there were cops they they grabbed my arms and dragged me to a cop car

As I'm being dragged I am wondering what I did for this to happen

The two cops shoved me in harshly before driving off to the church

When we arrived I noticed that the church looked different there was a big open spot where the preaching desk used to be

The two cops pulled me to the open spot where the preacher was waiting

"Son, do you know why you are here?" Said the preacher

"No, I do not" I said

"You are here because you killed Amy, my dear granddaughter" said the preacher

"What?! I didn't kill anyone" I said

As I was continuing you say I was innocent my friend spoke up

"Stop lying, you killed her!"

"I swear I didn't!" I said

"Yes you did I saw you do it!" Said my 'friend'

Ok after he said that I knew something was wrong first things first I know I didn't kill anyone, I also didn't even know Amy died until now, so if he is saying he saw me do it I know you is completely lying

As I was trying to prove my innocence the two cops dragged me to the backyard of the church where there was a nuse

It didn't take a genius to figure out what is about to happen

As I'm being drag I struggle hoping to free myself, but one of the cops hit my side with a baton then tazed me

After they managed to get the nuse around my neck the preacher spoke to me

"Do you have any last words?"

"..."

"May god forgive you when you are sent to the afterlife" said the preacher

"...od" I mumbled

"What?" Said the preacher

"I said there is no god" I said as I look the preacher straight into their eyes

"..."

All I heard before I fell and my vision went black was the yelling of the people, and the last thing I saw from that 'demon' was a smirk knowing full well he was the true culprit and that he had won

'If we ever meet again in the afterlife if it even exist...just know I will make you regret ever crossing me' I thought as my consciousness drift away...
