"What's it Abaan?" Maryam asked, impatiently, all she wanted to hear him said are the three magical words.
Abaan sighed. "This is hard for me as well. Maira I want you to trust me,".
"Abaan, you are scaring me?"
"We can't keep being friends." Abaan finally let it out.
Maryam smiled, in just a few seconds for her world to change. A few seconds for her to be over the moon, all she wanted is to hear it came out from him.
"We can't see each other from now on,"
Hearing what came out of his lips made her world stopped for a second. She doesn't seem to understand what he is saying though she saw his lips moving. Did he said they can't see each other from now on? But why? What had she done? What did she do, for him to make such a decision? Is he uncomfortable with her feelings toward him? There are her feelings, not his, she can control them. She doesn't care if she can't be his even though it'll kill her to see him with someone else. Why not seeing him is something she can't do. Especially if it's for a long time. Forever. Forever is a long time.
"From now on we can't see each other. We can't hear from each other, even through the phone...," Abaan continued as Maryam cut him midway.
"Abaan are you saying we have to forget about each other's existence? How am I supposed to do that? How am I supposed to forget that you exist? I can't do that. Abaan... Jalal Muazam have I done something to you? Have you heard something... something about me?" Maryam asked her voice cracking, forcing back her tears. She hopes that all this is a dream,
She will wake up and everything will be alright, she's in a dream world now, no not a dream, a nightmare, because dreams are for happiness and what she's feeling now is terrible, like darkness has engulfed her and she can't seem to see the light; and it hurt terribly.
