Ao'nung's pov
after the events that happened yesterday, me and the guys decided to go hunting when the 5 fingered freak showed. "what's chi boy doin here" roxto questioned. "i'm sorry i hit you, so many times" lo'ak spoke with a smirk. i'm assuming his dad told him to apologize since i'm the chiefs son. i looked at all the other guys as they nodded. "we should be friends" i sneered sticking my hand out to shake his. "come hunting with us, outside the reef." i added with a smirk "it's where the men hunt". "no way not allowed" lo'ak answered while i let go of his hand in an irritated way. "i must be asking the wrong brother" i joked loudly towards everyone on their ilu's while they laughed. I did this purposely to trigger lo'ak. it's all a game y'know and it sure was easy to win."let's do it" lo'ak said firmly while i gave him a hunting bow. we all made our metkayina noises as we dived in the water on our ilu's.
i loved when we jump through the waves while the sea breeze hits ur face. nothing beats it. "WOOWHOO" roxto remarked while diving back into the water. "keep up forest boy" i turned around talking to lo'ak behind me. we arrived at 3 brothers rock aka the outside the reef. "ay you lived" Roxto announced while we all laughed. "that was insane cuz" lo'ak exclaimed not knowing what we had planned. "this way i know a good spot" i joked looking at the guys with a smirk. we dived back into the water and we took him to the farthest hunting spot. we got off our ilu's and pretended like we were going hunting. "go call the fish and kill it" insisted in sign language to lo'ak who went to do it. while his back was turned it was the perfect time to start scheming. "what is he doing?" rotxo said in sign language while i tried not to laugh. "lets leave" i actioned.
we swam back to the surface and called for ilu's and headed back to the island. hours and hours had gone by and lo'ak still hadn't returned. it was nightfall, i thought i should tell somebody just in case anything happened but my ass is sea grass after i had just got into a fight yesterday, my dad isn't gonna let me ride for a month. i paced the sanctuary while arielliaä walked in looking at me confused. "what are you doing" she questioned dripping all wet in the sanctuary that would bleed down to the ocean floor below us. "i- just thinking" i gushed quickly sitting down. "oh mkay" arielliaä responded clearly not believing it. "so what you'd do today" she went on grabbing the knitting supplies. "uh- went huntin". she flared back at me and tilted her head. she stared at me for a good 60 seconds. Before i could say a word she spoke "Ao'nung" she questioned still keeping eye contact on me. shit "yeah?".
"what did you do?" she continued walking closer to me. "Nothing!" i yelled. "Liar" she yelled even louder. i got up and ran across the sanctuary "shut up moms gonna hear" i snapped pushing her. "what did you do ao'nung. i'm counting to THREE." she interrupted yelling 3. "okay okay i took lo'ak to-" she slapped me across the head before i could even finish. "ao'nung you just got in trouble yesterday. how could you be so childish, like seriously" she sighed crossing her arms. signaling for me to continue. "i took him outside the reef and we left him there that's it but he hasn't came back yet and i'm kinda worried." i gushed talking really fast so she wouldn't cut me off but by the faces she had. oh boy. "but he hasn't come back yet" arielliaä mimicked ."oh really, no fucking shit. HES NOT LIKE US, DID YOUR DUMBASS THINK HES GONNA LAST OUT THERE. HES NOT BUILT FOR THE WATER AO'NUNG" she screamed. i almost jumped but i held composure."i thought it was funny" i hissed under my breath "Till he's dead right?" my sister jabbed as I looked down in a bit of shame. i never truly thought about that. "Hm?, exactly" it was silent but she broke it soon after she had paced the sanctuary. "you have no decency, get that stick out your ass" arielliaä sneered.
"oh my god" she said pacing back and forth. "chill bro" i said rolling my eyes. "go tell neteyam right now. or do you need me escort you there" she said killing me with her eyes. "no i'll go" i finally said. i wanted to go sit back down but before i could even do so arielliaä spoke "THEN GO what are you waiting for the sea grass to grow??" she yelled as i dived from out the sanctuary quickly.
