"Just the person I was looking for" I laughed and I could see Charlotte roll her eyes. "What do you need Lando?" She pushed my arm off her shoulder. I loved to annoy her.
"Max and I reaaaally wanna go play golf, can you push my interviews back for a few hours?" I looked at her with a playful smile and nudged Max a little. "Pleaaaase" he made his best puppy face.
Charlotte laughed and shook her head. "Fine, go play kids. Lando, you have to be back in two hours" I nodded and kissed her cheek quickly.
We both ran out of the hospitality. We almost crashed into Zak, who looked at us confused. "Dude were are you going?" He asked but Max and I just ran through the paddock laughing.
Charlotte would probably explain him everything.

————————

"I am gonna find you an amazing girl" Max said as he walked back to me. "I am single for a week now, you better find yourself a girl"
I chuckled. I definitely wasn't ready to jump into another relationship, not after everything that happened.
"Yeah true, maybe you have to find me a girl" he chuckled as he sat back down in the golf cart. "Oh yes, let me text Verstappen to fix a party" I said as I grabbed my phone. I saw how he was rolling his eyes but I knew he also wanted to party.

————————

It was hard to see Miles and Skye walk together through the paddock. She replaced me in a couple of weeks and she definitely wasn't hiding it.
I guess Charlotte noticed it too because she nudged me softly. "Keep your head up" I nodded.
If she was happy with him then I could only be happy for her. She deserved that.

I walked in the media pen, I had to do a couple of interviews and the last one was with Sky Sports. Even that name reminded me of her.
I smiled at the journalist, I didn't recognize her. She must be new. "I haven't seen you around here, are you new?" She clearly didn't expect my question because she stuttered a little before answering. "Yes I am Maya, I normally work behind the scenes" she adjusted the mic a little. She was definitely avoiding eye contact. I just nodded, I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable.
"Are you feeling any better? You look much better" I saw how she instantly regretted that last sentence. "I mean, you always look good but yeah.." she stumbled over her words. I chuckled a little. "I definitely feel much better, I'm not at a 100% yet but I'm looking forward to this race. Monaco is always a special one" she nodded thankfully, I guess she was happy I didn't made it more awkward.
"Do you think you can lead the championship again after this race?" I shrugged my shoulders. "We'll definitely try that" she nodded and smiled. She had a very nice smile. "Thank you Lando" I started to walk away but I quickly stopped and turned around to her. "For what it's worth, you're doing a great job" I remembered my first day at the job, it was horrible and I was so nervous.
I bet she was feeling that as well.
Her cheeks turned red as she smiled.

I smiled as I walked back to the hospitality. Charlotte nudged me softly. "Its good to see you smile again" I shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal but it was.

I started to attend the engineers meetings again but I just couldn't concentrate. My mind was still with Skye and everything that happened.
I quickly got up "Excuse me" they all nodded, I didn't need to explain myself.
I walked out and I looked up at the sky. It was definitely gonna rain.

I needed to get away from here, everything started to remind me of her, of us. I walked as quick as possible to my car.
The new journalist girl was just standing there as it began to rain. She looked lost.
I walked to her and put my hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?" She quickly turned around, I couldn't tell if it were tears or rain on her cheek.
"Sorry I just don't know how to get to my hotel" she softly said, she was looking at her phone probably trying to find a way to her hotel. "Let's go to my car, I'll drive you there" I pointed at my car but she quickly shook her head. "I don't wanna bother you, you probably want to rest and stuff" I rolled my eyes as I laughed. She was cute. Very cute.
"You're not bothering me love" I was surprised that I called her love and so was she. I could see her cheeks turning red.

"Tough day?" I broke the silence when we were driving to her hotel. I actually took the long way so we could talk a bit longer.
"Yes I fucked up every interview, I'm pretty sure they will never let me do that again" she sighed as she looked at her hands. "You didn't fuck up my interview, you were the best one" she shook her head laughing. "I called you cute, that's a fuck up" she definitely felt uncomfortable around me, I could see how she played with her bracelet. She didn't even look at me.
"So you're saying I'm not cute?" I stopped in front of her hotel. She just smiled. "Thank you for driving me here. Good luck tomorrow" she quickly grabbed her stuff and got out of my car.

I looked as she walked inside. I couldn't read her, was she uncomfortable around me because she thought I was cute or did she just don't wanna be around me?

I was definitely gonna try to find out.
