The drivers were getting ready for the race so I walked in and stood next to Kelly. She smiled as she saw me. "Did you have a nice summer break?" She asked and I nodded. "I missed you on our vacation though" she continued. I actually felt bad for skipping the vacation but little did she know that I had the best summer break I could wish for.
"I know, I'm sorry Kelly but I will take you on a girls day to make it up to you" I nudged her smiling and she just nodded.
"Too bad about you and Lando, Max is already setting up dates for you" I quickly turned my head to her. Was he really doing that? Fuck, how could I get out of this? "I told him you're probably not ready for it yet but you know how he is" she continued. I sighed, I definitely knew what he was like. He was a good friend but that probably also meant he was setting up dates for Lando. Not that he needed it, he was having a lunch date with that girl even though we were still together.
The race was pretty boring. Max knew this track so well, Lando could never beat him but he was still driving in P2.
I was leaning against the wall as I grabbed my phone to post something. "Do you have a minute?" I quickly looked up and saw Helmut standing in front of me. I nodded. I've never really talked to him. I mean, I talked to him during meetings and stuff but never alone.
"Do you know if Lando signed a contract with Mclaren for next year?" I shook my head. It wasn't my business so I wasn't gonna tell them anything. "Do you think he'll be interested to join us?" They definitely wanted to sign him and I had the feeling Lando was interested in talking to them too.
"I don't know Helmut, I think he's open to talk to you but you should ask him instead of me. He is not interested in being the second driver though" fuck why did I even say this. He would never be the first driver in this team so they probably weren't gonna offer him a contract anymore.
He just thanked me and walked away.

Lando finished second and Max obviously won the race. I was proud of both of them.
I was standing with Red Bull and was looking up at the podium. My phone started to vibrate a couple of times. It was a unknown number.
I quickly opened my messages and rolled my eyes immediately.

I looked up at him, he looked down at me and winked. I chuckled. He was terrible at hiding his feelings and I definitely didn't mind that.
After the ceremony I walked back to the hospitality. I couldn't go to Lando, he was probably busy with his interviews anyways.
I don't know why I got so jealous. He was trying to fix things for us, that why he was probably talking to the Ziggo reporter.
