FRED'S POV
Today is the day that I start my fifth year at Hogwarts. September 1st. I get to see all my friends again, and I get to see Y/N. I haven't really heard from her over the summer. I wonder how she is doing. I hope she is doing well. I have missed not seeing her and talking to her. I am excited to get back to annoying Snape and pranking Filch. I wonder who the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is going to be. It seems like every year we get a new one. Can we finally have a good one this year? Lockhart was a fraud and in my opinion, a dumbass, and Quriell was just weird in general.
Eygpt was such an amazing experience. Luck was on our side when we won 700 gallons. My family isn't the richest. It's a fact that almost everyone at Hogwarts knows. It used to be a bit of an insecurity of mine but I have grown to accept it. It would always be the darn Slytherins that would always taunt George and I for not having money. They would make all these stupid, nasty comments about how we would use second-owned books, we would wear old, second-hand clothes and that my family was 'blood traitors'. The thing about my family that sets us different from all the other pureblood families is our love for one another.
I look at the Malfoy/Black family for example. They are so strict with blood status. All of their friends have to be purebloods, they are basically promoting incest because they marry down-the-road cousins so they can still have a pureblood status. In my opinion, blood is just blood and so what if someone has a bit of muggle blood in themselves?
Sometimes I think that my dad wishes he was a muggle-born. He's so interested in muggles. Y/N's mother lives in the muggle world and when Y/N visits her mom, she writes to us to tell her dad what it's like and sometimes brings back some muggle items and gives them to dad.
Y/N has to be one of the kindest souls. She has such a great heart and that's one of the reasons why I can never get her out of my head. Being friends with Y/N is such a blessing. Plus she helps me with my homework a lot.
Pranking that Slytherin was worth it. Well, maybe not when she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up falling victim to the prank back in the first year. Ended up sending her to the hospital wing for a couple of nights. Felt so bad but that's what started the friendship.
So sometimes it pays off to prank. Actually, it always pays off.
George and I found a compartment for everyone to sit in. Lee came in first, "Hey guys! How was Eygpt?" He asked as he sat down next to George. "Wicked," George and I said in unison. "Have you seen Y/N yet?" I asked Lee. "Oh yeah, you didn't have to listen to a whole bunch of 'how do you think Y/N is doing', or 'I miss Y/N'. It was always Y/N this and Y/N that," George said. I motioned for him to shut up.
"I think I heard my name?" Y/N asked as she stepped into the compartment. She had the biggest, sweetest, kindest smile on her face. I stood up and pulled her in for a hug. "Missed you too Fred," She laughed. I guess I didn't realize how tight I was hugging her. Once I let go of her, she hugged George and Lee too.
She took a seat down next to me. I examined her for a quick second.
Her hair was longer, her face matured in a good way, and she was a little bit taller but I still tower over her. She also got curvy. She did have something there before but it's way more visible now. Is it wrong to have these thoughts? Probably is.
She's just a friend.
Angelina, Alicia, and Katie found their way into our compartment. I couldn't get my eyes and mind off of Y/N. I always found myself having to do double takes. She was always so pretty, but she's so breathtaking looking at her now.
