Chapter Sixteen

Y/N'S POV 

I went to dad's room, it was early morning. Today Buckbeak, the hippogriff was being sentenced to death because of the Malfoys. Maybe if Draco just did what he was told, innocent blood wouldn't be spilled. 

I knocked on the door, "Come in." 

I walked in and saw dad, it was before my defense against the dark arts exam so technically I shouldn't be doing this but he was my dad and this was news that was urgent. Dad needed to know about this all, and that this time it wasn't because I was tired. Even Harry saw it!

"Hi sweetheart, are you okay?" Dad asked. "Yeah, I just wanted to tell you that what Harry saw on the map yesterday, I saw it too. And this is the second time I have seen it.  The map doesn't lie." I said. 

Dad put down the paper he was marking and looked at me, "I know Y/N, I thought the first time that you saw it, it was because you were tired but now with two people confirming it, what I had hoped was true for so many years, I think just maybe."

"What do you mean?" I asked, raising my eyebrow at him. 

"Sirius Black is innocent, that rat the Weasleys have, don't you think 13 years is an insane long lifespan for a rat?" Dad asked. "You mean Ron's pet rat Scabbers?" I asked. Dad nodded his head. 

"Oh my god," I said just realizing it, I don't know how I only just put two and two together. Ron's rat is missing a toe, all that was left of Peter Pettigrew was a finger. 

"Ron's rat is missing a toe," I stated, "Yeah and all that was left of Pettigrew was a finger. I never wanted to believe it but Peter Pettigrew was the one that sold the Potters to Voldemort. Sirius was innocent the entire time. Pettigrew framed him!" Dad exclaimed. 

"Well, we have to do something, Sirius is an innocent man! He deserves to live an innocent life!" I exclaimed. "Don't worry darling, I will do something about it all. You don't have to worry." Dad said. 

I sighed, "Dad tonight is a full moon!" I exclaimed. 

He looked at me and nodded his head, "I know, but I know what I am doing. I will do anything to make sure Sirius walks the rest of his life an innocent man."

"Now, go get ready for your exam, you will do great!" Dad exclaimed. I went over and hugged him tightly. "Make sure to take your potion," I warned him. 

I walked out of the room and went to go find either Percy, Fred, George, or Ron. They may know where scabbers or should I say Pettigrew is. 

I bumped into George along the way, "George! Where is Scabbers?!" I asked. 

"Woah no hi Georgie?" George teased. "George this is very important!" I exclaimed. 

"Last time I asked Ron, he lost the damn rat!" George chuckled at his brother always losing the rat. 

I groaned, "No." 

"Woah, didn't know you cared much for little Ronnikins' rat." George laughed. 

"No, I don't care about his rat, there is something more to his rat that's not even really a rat!" I exclaimed. 

George looked at me, confusion on his face, his eyebrow raised. 

"What?" He yelled, almost like he didn't believe what I had said. 

"It's a long story and very complicated and very confusing but I just need to know where his rat is," I said. 

"Ask Ron, but we don't have much time before our exam. So better hurry." George said. I nodded and ran to find Ron. I kept looking at the clock and there were only fifteen minutes before the O.W.L. Defense Against Dark Arts exam.
