In days of yore, in times long past
When man was wild and lived so fast
He lived in caves and roamed the land
And sought the fire with eager hand. The fire was guarded by the gods
Who kept it hidden in their abodes
But man was clever and knew the art
Of sneaking in and stealing a part. With fire in hand, he left the cave
And danced in joy, no longer a slave
To cold and darkness, he could see
And cook his food, and be wild and free. Thus fire was stolen, and man was bold
A new age dawned, as stories were told
Of the theft of fire, a daring feat
That changed the world, and made man complete.
