A/N: Sorry it took so long for this chapter to come out. Party scenes are hard to write when you've never been to a large one like the kind I was hoping to depict. Daisy's party is larger because she and her partner probably know a lot of important people (Daisy being Professor Oak's other grand child and all that,) but I think this was definitely a bit wilder as opposed to the formal setting you'd associate with weddings. Anyway, Red's being shy like the skrunkly little guy he is.
"Dreamt of a city, somewhere over the mountains. Where the sidewalks are paved with helpful ideas. You were with me, standing over the highway, Gasoline hanging in the air" - Toynbee Tiles
The party was loud, and pretty wild. Red was immediately turned off by the noise, grabbing Blue's hand the moment they entered the house. He was shrinking. "Today's been a good day, if staying in here all night is gonna change that, we don't need to be here the entire time." Blue smiled softly at him, "I have earbuds in my bag if you need to drown out the noise with nicer noise." Red nodded. He was squeezing Blue's hand, gripping it tightly. Blue quickly found Daisy chatting with Misty and her girlfriend. Red shrunk behind him, he seemed embarrassed by his outfit choice. Which was fair. It was always nerve wracking to present how you are in public. He pulled the bill of his hat over his eyes with his free hand. Blue squeezed his hand gently, then inserted himself into the conversation. "Hey, guys. What's up?"
"OH! Blue!" Daisy grinned, she hugged him with one arm, then moved to inspect Red. Red shyly waved. Daisy seemed vaguely offput by Red's skirt, but she greeted him warmly nonetheless. "So, you are taken?" She would immediately ask, glancing at their hands entwined with one another. Blue blushed deeply, mortified at her prying.
"N-no. Just been doing the whole roommate thing!" He quickly clarified.
"...right.. Gotcha." Daisy winked? What was she winking about!?
"No, seriously. Just... roommates."
After a while of chatting with Daisy, Red dragged Blue away from her and towards the drinks. His heart seemed set on getting drunk, and Blue chuckled, watching Red chug a cup of cheap beer that probably didn't taste good. His hand was still firmly holding Blue's, the other hand now occupied by the drink. "Need to get drunk already?""... too soon..." He grunted. Huh?
"What's up?" Blue served his own drink and took a sip.
"Too soon to wear this in public... 'm stressed out.." Red mumbled.
"Ohh.. Sweetheart... If anyone says anything about your outfit choice, just sock 'em. Or let me have them." Blue set down his drink and gently cupped Red's cheek. He didn't know where 'Sweetheart' came from, but Red didn't seem to mind the nickname so all was well. Red gazed down at him. His eyes spoke for him. "You look amazing. If you really don't like wearing a skirt out here, we can go home, but you're rocking it." Blue smiled. Red nodded, his face went pink. They would drink a bit more, then Red seemed more ready to mingle. Blue appreciated that Red wanted to go to this party with him, but he felt bad that Red felt the need to force himself to be here. They found Misty and Erika having a conversation- Red had brought up wanting to gather different training tips for training Cheri, so they might be helpful. "Hey, guys! What's up?" Blue stepped into the conversation. He took another sip of his drink. Misty and Erika smiled.
"Hey there, you two." Misty grinned. Red tipped his hat, squeezing Blue's hand. "What's up?"
"Not much. What're you talking about?"
"Oh, we're just discussing different kinds of berries and items we use in battle."
"Nice." Blue glanced at Red, "Do you wanna ask them about Cheri or should I?" Red shrugged, he let Cheri out of its Pokeball and picked it up. "Red adopted an Eevee. He was hoping someone might have any pointers or suggestions for raising it." There was a pause. Cheri yipped, it licked Red's cheek and Red smiled- they were adorable.
