Enid's POV-

I got back from class to find Wednesday, asleep on our bed. She was curled up tightly in one of my pink fluffy blankets. I set down my backpack at the door and climbed into bed next to her.

I curled up behind her with her back against my chest. I gently unbraided her hair, setting her soft raven waves free. I ran my hand through her hair while placing kisses on her cheek.

She stirred awake slightly and let out a quiet whimper.

"Wens, are you okay?" I asked, placing my hand on her shoulder. She snuggled in closer to me.

As I wrapped my arms around her, she let out a louder whimper.

Something was wrong.

I let her go and sat up to look at her.

"Wens, wake up, what's wrong?" I said.

"Hmm? Nothing... I'm fine." She said in a raspy voice.

"No, something is very wrong. What's the matter loves?" I persisted, setting my hand on her arm. She whimpered and squirmed.

"Okay Wednesday, what the heck is going on?" I asked, concerned.

"Wednesday, what's wrong with your arm?" I asked. She turned away from me.

"Enid, I'm fine-" She said with a sniffle.

"Wednesday show me your arm, please." I said as stern as I could manage.

She slowly sat up and turned to face me. Tears began to slowly drop from her eyes.

Reluctantly, she held out her arm to me. I gently rolled up the sleeve of the pink hoodie.

Her arm, it was covered with bandages.

Blood soaked bandages.

"Baby I-" I was interrupted by her bursting into sobs. She crumbled into my arms. 

I held back my tears. I knew I had to be strong for Wednesday.

I held her as she cried into my shoulder, desperately trying to breathe through the tears. I rubbed her back. We sat just like that for ages.

Finally she managed to catch her breath.

"I-I'm s-s-sorry..." she choked out.

"No no no loves! You don't need to apologize, it's okay... it's okay..." I slowly rocked her in my arms. I wiped the tears from her eyes and kissed her forehead.
