3rd Person POV
Rick: "Dale could-- could get under your skin. He sure got under mine, because he wasn't afraid to say exactly what he thought, how he felt. That kind of honesty is rare and brave."
Everyone was gathered around Dale's grave along with Jason who had held his helmet against his side, thinking of how many times he had failed now.
Rick: "Whenever I'd make a decision, I'd look at Dale. He'd be looking back at me with that look he had. We've all seen it one time or another."
Everyone continued to listen, Jason slowly lifting his head as his vision became distorted, almost like reality glitched as he looked around at everyone.
Rick: "I can always read him, but he could read us. He knew things about us-- the truth, who we really are."
Jason looked around more, his vision distorted once again as he saw something he wish he didn't.
Lori with her stomach cut open, T-Dog with his neck ripped out, Amy with a bleeding hole in her chest, and Harley with a hole in her neck.
Jason's eyes slowly widened before his vision distorted again, making everything normal again.
Rick: "He was talking about losing our humanity. He said this group was broken. The best way to honor him is to unbreak it. Set aside our differences and pull together, stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take control of our lives, our safety... Our future. We're not broken. We're going to prove him wrong. From now on we're going to do it his way. That is how we honor Dale."
After Rick was done, Jason quickly walked away, trying to compose himself after what he saw.
It took a few minutes but he managed to calm down, walking over to the group who were talking around the blue pick-up truck.
Rick: "Gonna be tight, 14 people in one house."
Hershel: "Don't worry about that. With the swamp hardening, the creek drying up..."
Maggie: "With 50 head of cattle on the property, we might as well be ringing a damn dinner bell."
Hershel nodded in agreement.
Hershel: "She's right. We should have moved you in a while ago."
Rick looked around before he decided to speak.
Rick: "All right, let's move the vehicles near each of the doors facing out toward the road. We'll build a lookout in the windmill, another in the barn loft. That should give us sightlines on both sides of the property."
Jason then approached them all.
Jason: "Don't bother. It'll be a waste of time."
Daryl: "Why's that?"
Jason: "Because we won't be staying. We ALL need to leave. On the outskirts of Hershel's farm, I went to visit an old man. Carter Slade. Told me there was a huge amount of walkers heading this direction. Nothing will stop it."
Everyone looked at Jason in shock.
Rick: "How far away are they?"
Jason: "Far enough that the herd will make it here by night."
T-Dog: "Then there's the issue with our buddy in the barn."
Jason thought for a few seconds before he and Rick nodded to eachother.
Rick: "We'll cut Randall loose on the outskirts. Take him far away enough while blindfolded so he can't tell the direction."
Jason: "Sounds like a plan."
