''So, you're telling me that you both got the call?''
Clay and Justin glanced at each other before looking back at Jess as they stand outside Macy's, preparing to say their goodbyes. Well, Clay was trying mostly, Justin simply stood there and watched.
''Yeah,'' Clay responded, head low as his arms hung at his waist.
''Shit,'' Jessica tearfully walked up to Clay, pulling her arms around him as she rested her cheek on his shoulder, hugging him tightly.
Clay didn't say anything, he didn't know what to tell her in response.
''I can't believe it, I...'' Jessica was lost for words as she hesitantly pulled away from Clay. After everything that Clay had helped her with, how much he supported her, she couldn't help but feel the loss hitting her quite hard. ''I'm going to miss you, Clay...''
''I guess I'll be missing you too,'' Clay told her quietly in response, hugging her one last time before stepping backwards, Jessica not ready for him to leave. ''We're gonna start heading off now... Uh, we have people to stop by before... You know.''
''Yeah, yeah,'' Jessica nodded, sniffing.
''Bye, Jess,'' Clay told her as he turned around to leave, yet they were quickly stopped by her as she walked over to Justin for a moment. Something Clay didn't expect, neither did Justin himself as he stopped, confused by what she might want from him.
Jessica enveloped him.
Justin froze.
''You know, I think I'm going to miss you too, Justin,'' Jessica told him once she pulled away, trying to not give him too much pleasure from it.
''Yeah, me too,'' Justin told her, trying not to smile a little as Jess looked at both of them with a look of grief. She was already feeling as if she was losing them, or Clay, mostly. Justin knew that. He was only here barely a day, yet he could still catch a glimpse of her looking in his direction with quite a longing look.
''Come on, we should go,'' Clay told him as he turned to Jessica, who nodded in acknowledgement that they were heading off.
Justin hesitated for a moment before turning around to follow where Clay found it hard to walk away. So he just followed the other boy, both in silence as they reach a turn.
They both disappeared around the corner, not looking back.
