Jihyo’s POV
I tiptoed so that I wouldn’t make a sound. I put my index finger near my lips to hush the staff that saw my questioning action. The prey in front of me remained oblivious to what I was about to do to her as she was concentrating on kneading the dough in front of her.
I held in my smile then used my hands to attack her waist.
“Ah!” She stood up, startled, and the clattered sounds of her chair filled the kitchen as she turned around in anger with her palms dirtied with flour, “Yah! Park Jihyo! You startled me!”
I laughed out loud, “You should have seen your face!”
“Haha, very funny,” Jeongyeon unnie rolled her eyes in annoyance then turned her back on me.
I pouted and then hugged her from the back which she immediately retaliated by slapping my hands away. Jeongyeon unnie is not a fan of physical touch but Nayeon unnie and I still do touch her to tease and annoy her. It was so much fun watching the disgusted expression on her face but she still let us hug her anyway.
“Ah, unnie, don’t be mad, hmm?” I glided away and sat next to her with both my palms under my chin and my elbows on the messy table.
“I thought you weren’t coming because it’s late,” She said with her hands still busy softening the dough.
I took off my hat, “Well, I promised to be here to congratulate you face to face,” I smiled, “Congratulations unnie! We should celebrate!”
“Don’t you have a dinner to go to?” She raised her brow at me, smiling.
“I mean, not tonight. Maybe tomorrow or next time,”
I observed Jeongyeon unnie as her hands were busy molding, rolling, and shaping the dough until she was satisfied with its firmness and softness as well. The two bakers were minding their work with their backs on us since they were already used to having us over. The other staff were bustling in and out of the kitchen to fulfill their duties.
Although the kitchen was bustling with soft noises, there was only silence engulfing both of me and Jeongyeon unnie.
“What’s wrong? Still anxious for tonight?” Jeongyeon unnie broke the silence. She was not looking at me when she asked.
I slightly lifted my lips while nodding my head, “Well, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. That’s why,”
“Just chill, Jihyo. Maybe you’re just overthinking things,” Jeongyeon unnie said, looking at me, “Maybe it’s just a normal family dinner,”
“Maybe it’s not so normal...” A voice whispered from behind me, causing me to jump in fright.
I turned around and sighed as I put my palm on my chest, “Yah, Nayeon unnie, I almost slapped you, you know,”
She laughed as she patted my back and rested her forearm on my shoulder, “Mian~ It’s just the right moment to cut in,”
“When did you arrive?”
“Earlier than you. She just changed her clothes in my house above,” Jeongyeon unnie replied, “Apparently, she just got off from work,”
I widened my eyes, “On a Saturday?! What did he ask of you this time?”
