Jihyo’s POV
I could feel the intense stare Nayeon unnie gave me even though I wasn’t looking at her.
I noticed that she sent me a look of suspicion and her hands tied under her chin and her elbows rested on the kitchen countertop. She hasn’t questioned me anything yet which I am thankful for as I do not want to think about anything at the moment. She must have been wondering as to why I suddenly sent an SOS message to our group that I needed to meet them on this very fine Saturday morning when Nayeon unnie should have still been on her comfortable mattress, dreaming of things that never existed in her life.
As she always does.
The both of us were inside my decent sized apartment because the topic I’m about to talk to her is not something we could discuss in public, especially with that loud voice of hers. Just imagining Nayeon unnie freaking out at a public place made me trembled in embarrassment.
Because who’s going on a blind date nowadays set up by their parents?
With the possibility of marriage happening.
Right now, I’m trying out to cook a new dish that I never tried before; Galbitang. I have always wanted to try to cook this one but never had the time and it’s not like I could finish this whole bowl on my own. So, luckily, I got to cook it today for Nayeon unnie and myself. It would be better for Jeongyeon unnie to be here as well because she’d be able to keep Nayeon unnie in check but it’s a shame she couldn’t make it.
Well, this Galbitang is also more or less like a bribe. You know, so that Nayeon unnie would be able to concentrate more on the food rather than causing a scene at my apartment.
Nayeon unnie tend to be overdramatic.
That’s a part of her charm, of course.
The sizzling sounds were the only sound available that echoed inside my apartment. None of us is saying anything at the moment but I knew that Nayeon unnie is getting impatient as the second ticked by, just like how the meal is almost finished, Nayeon unnie’s patient almost reached her limit and waiting is not her favourite thing, for sure.
However, I was amazed that Nayeon unnie remained silent until now. I purposely avoided talking earlier when she arrived and changed the topic when she tried to ask. That’s a good character development because being patient is a must, at certain times and she also needed to tone down her curiosity since Nayeon unnie could never control that desire of her to know.
But, the sharp stare from earlier and the dark aura that I felt seemed to intensified that I almost peed my pants.
“To hell with waiting! What is it?!" Nayeon unnie slammed her hand on the countertop of the kitchen which created a loud smack, and I know for sure that hurt her but she ignored the tingling of pain on her palm.
At the sudden noise, I slightly jumped and caused the pan I was holding to stagger as well. I panicked, thinking that I might have spilled some from the pan but then sighed in relief, “Nayeon unnie, I almost spilled the food and burned myself! Stop startling me like that,”
I should have known that she could never retain her curiosity.
“Um, I’m sorry but also not sorry because the person in front of me still did not open her mouth as to why she asked me to come over so early in the morning when that person knew how much I valued my sleep,”
It was obvious from Nayeon unnie’s tone that she was in a bad mood and this is why no one should bother her when she was sleeping because I know that the weekend are the only days where she could wake up late but I still called her to come.
