The patchwork spacecraft floated ominously over the Area 50 Something base. Its dismal beams illuminated the black night sky eerily, like a haunted house on all Hallows Eve. It slowly spun in the air, kind of like how our earth slowly spins as it revolves around the sun. I carefully peaked over a big, orangish boulder and watched it spin in mid-air. I glared at the spacecraft as I thought about everyone who was trapped inside. Bob the blob, Link, Stabi...and my sister. It probably wouldn't be that far-fetched to say that Coverton likely abducted my parents and other siblings as well. Maybe, he had them under his control, like he did with the General and his men and women in uniform.

"So,"

"ach!!"

Volcano had accidentally jump-scared me.

"Sorry!" she mumbled as she inched closer to my slinking form. I gently scratched behind her ears to show her I wasn't mad about the matter, making my brightly colored dog tilt her head to the side briefly, as if begging for more ear-scratching. As much as I'd have liked to just keep giving my doggie some tender care and love, there were much more important things to be done!

"Anyway," Volcano whispered as I felt Blitz creep up beside me. "What's our strategy?"

" Yes!" I hear Stierla hiss excitedly as I watched her slink to the other edge of our boulder. "What's the plan?"

I glanced back to my left to see Selene checking her patched up water tank, ensuring that it wasn't leaking. When assured, she closed her eyes and sighed deeply as she allowed the misty water vapor to spritz her gills. Another sigh escaped her mouth as her neck became wet with the refreshing liquid.

"Still doin' okay?" I asked Selene, gesturing to her tank. Selene replied with a silent nod and a smidge of a smile.

I nodded back and returned my gaze up towards the ship.

It was pretty big for a patchwork ship! And of course, by big, I mean it was HUGE for a simple patchwork ship. In fact, if I squinted, I could make out the shapes and pieces of that scorpion robot that me and the gals had beaten down just a few days prior to this endeavor.

"What do you think it's made of Blitz?" I asked the clever alien pixie.

I didn't dare take my eyes off the ship for fear that it would disappear, as I heard Blitz turn on her high-tech tablet. She aimed it up towards the ship, setting it above our hiding place just long enough to get some sort of invisible scan, or possibly a picture of it. She lowered the device as soon as she got what she needed. I hear her little blue fingers tickle and tap her screen.

"clickity-clink-tap-tap-tap-clink!"

"According to these photos and far-out observations," Blitz began, drawing everyone's attention to her. "It's too far to be able to know for sure, but it appears that this ship is made from the scraps of previous machines, including that scorpion robot that we beat just a few days ago!"

"I knew it!" I whispered, sort of congratulating myself for guessing that in advance. Thankfully, nobody took notice of my soft, but sudden outburst. And I went back to looking at Blitz's captured pictures of the spacecraft.

"Can you tell if there's any way up there?" Selene asked.

"There was a tractor beam pulling Susan and me into the ship!" I whispered to the crew, "And there was a trap door opening at the bottom of the ship! I saw it open before I managed to escape!"
