5.
Frances wandered around the crowded mansion searching for a quiet place to spend the rest of yet another boring Friday night.
She played around with the empty blue plastic cup in her hands and looked for an available room upstairs.
At the end of the fancily decorated hallway was a closed mahogany door. Frances, ever since she was a little toddler, she had always had this obsession for mysteries and she was a curious girl. She longed for the feeling of adrenaline filling her body and that nervousness in her stomach.
She knocked on the door and entered the room without consent. There was Hannah, her blonde hair up in a ponytail and her pink glasses on, working on her schoolwork. On top of her desk were millions of books, notebooks and pencils all scattered around.
"Why are you studying on a Friday night?" Frances asked, slightly amused.
"Why are you in my room?" Hannah replied angrily for having her work interrupted.
Both girls glared at each other, not breaking eye contact, silently pressuring each other to answer the other's question.
"I'm acting upon my label." Hannah sighed, giving up on the meaningless challenge. "Now, please, leave the room."
"Do you wanna go outside and party?" Frances asked, curiously.
"No." Hannah sighed, extremely annoyed. "Get out."
"You're so naïve." Frances laughed accusingly. "You're completely brainwashed."
"Oh really?" she dared. "At least I actually fit in in society. What do you do? You'll never achieve shit in life. Never. Because you're different and because of that no one will like you. You're wrong in every possible way."
Hannah stood up from the chair and faced Frances daringly. The blonde was more annoyed than ever. She couldn't believe France's point of view. How dared she defy the law? How dared she have an opinion on the way society works and must work?
Frances, on the other hand, was disgusted. How could someone be so naïve and foolish? How could Hannah think society was supposed to work like this? Why should we be forced to be someone we are not?
"Don't you ever wanna do something else?" Frances inquired.
"No! This is my job, this my life!" Hannah shouted. "This is who I was assigned to be therefore I must act the way they want me to!"
"How can you think like that? How can you enjoy living with no choice on yourself?"
"Because that's how it must be!" Hannah screamed furiously. "Get the fuck out!"
The girls were ready to rip each other's throats (literally, you could say) when the door behind them was forcefully opened.
"What the heck is going on?" Katie entered the room wearing just a lacy bra and a pencil skirt. "I'm tryna have a good bang but you guys are making so much noise!"
"She's a Revolutionary." Hannah accused, pointing her finger with perfectly done nails at Frances who stood there quietly watching both sisters.
Katie's green eyes opened wide and she quickly shut the door behind her.
"What?!"
"I'm not a Revolutionary, I was simply stating my opinion." Frances quietly explained.
The truth was that she really wanted to be a Revolutionary. She craved the feeling of freedom everyone lacked and she wanted to fight for it.
But, of course, she couldn't say something so filthy and wrong like that. She was animal, and animals can't speak. Not in a way humans understand, at least.
