12.
It was Christmas time. The happy time.
Although for the eleven teenagers spending time with their families wasn't exactly a blessing.
As for Frances, she didn't have a very big family so with was just her, her parents and her grandparents.
"So, Frances, what do you plan to do when you leave school?" the typical question her grandmothers always asked her.
Frances rolled her eyes and shrugged. She knew exactly what she was gonna do but she couldn't tell them because it was illegal therefore they'd most likely throw her in jail and never respect her again.
She was gonna be a Revolutionary, that was her future: working on a better future for humanity. She always desired to do something great and that was her chance. Maybe she'd have a job like working at a coffee shop or something just to cover up her secret job.
"You're graduating this year, you should already know!" her grandfather yelled, banging his fist on the table. "What are you doing with your life, little girl?"
"I'll figure something out." Frances replied uninterested. "Could you pass me the salad, please?"
"Frances, your grandpa is right. You must know what to do with your life, now." her mother said, slowly passing her the salad.
"Mum, I honestly don't care, right now. I already told you, I'll figure something out." she replied, more aggressively this time. "I always do."
"No, you must care, Frances." her grandfather insisted. "Do not be a disgrace to this family!"
"I don't fucking care!" she shouted, violently standing up making her chair fall to the ground with a loud noise. "I don't give a fuck! Don't fucking tell me what to do! I rather be a disgrace than not be happy and work on a shitty job my entire life which will make me even more depressed than I already am!"
Frances walked off the table without saying anything else and ignoring her parents' angry screams for her to come back.
They weren't bad parents, she just couldn't love them. And oh how she tried.

Calum was sitting on the red couch with a mug of hot chocolate between his hands talking to his lovely sister Mali.
"So, how've you been, little brother?" she asked with her kind brown eyes glowing.
"Football's great, I'm the team captain. School is great, too." he said, not as proudly as people expected to.
"That's nice." Mali nodded and then smirked playfully. "Who have you been fucking lately?"
"Mali!" he laughed, jokingly hitting her. "Shut up..."
"Oh, you're blushing! Calum has a girlfriend!" she shouted so the whole family could hear. "Who is it?"
"No one!"
"Yes one!"
Calum chuckled and felt his phone vibrating next to him. He picked it up and saw he had a new text.

"Who is that?" Mali asked, taking the phone from his hands and, ignoring Calum's loud protests, read the text. "Holy shit."
"Happy, now? Give me the phone, don't be a bitch."
