Jane was jolted awake as she heard an agonizing scream from downstairs. without hesitation, she threw herself out of bed and ran down the stairs, nearly tripping over every step.she ran into the kitchen to find krist covered in pancake mix, kurt holding the box to the pancake mix, and dave simply watching it all happen.
jane quickly realized what had happen as she studied the three. she threw a hand on her chest as she sighed with relief.
"jesus christ," jane exhaled. the adrenaline rush left her body just as her true exhaustion settled in.
she rubbed her eyes with heel of her hand, "goddammit, krist, you woke me up." she groaned."that's not my fault!" krist defended himself, "kurt's an idiot and didn't realize the packaging was open and-"
jane cut krist off of his rambling, "i don't care what happened, you don't need to sound like a girl screaming bloody murder."
dave and kurt looked at krist and laughed. "i don't scream like a girl!" krist argued, jane didn't carry on the conversation."what time is it?" she yawned, "7:32." kurt was quick to respond.
"why the hell are you all up this early?" she questioned.dave began to explain, "our lovely friend here, k-" he stopped once kurt turned to make eye contact with him, dave blinked before releasing a small "oh." kurt let out a noise of annoyance as he stopped facing dave.
"krist! our friend krist, he wanted to make breakfast for... all 4 of us! because, it'd be a nice surprise!" dave was an awful liar, jane caught onto this. she was quick to know the true story.
jane hummed as she leaned against the counter, "well, it's not much of a surprise when three out of four people know about the surprise." she pointed out, looking over at kurt. he looked embarrassed.
jane softly smirked at kurt before looking back at dave, "well, still. nice surprise for the one person that didn't know," she continued, "an even better surprise to see krist looking like an idiot." she redirected her eyes to krist.
"fuck off!" he answered. jane pushed herself off the counter, "well, breakfast is ruined. thanks, krist." she joked.
"what did i even do!" krist cried.–
after cleaning up the mess in the kitchen and taking an hour long nap, jane had found herself at her desk, hardly awake, lazily doodling in her journal.
a knock was heard at her door. she already knew who was standing there.
"come in." she assented, her eyes and hand not leaving the page she scribbled on.jane listened to the door open then close. she finally turned around to see kurt with the smallest smile on his face. kurt saw the journal in front of jane, accompanied by all the markings on the page.
kurt walked over to jane and her desk, "what's going on over here?" he asked as he looked at her page. messily drawn stars, flowers, mini sceneries filled the page. of course, they weren't anything serious, it was just cartoon like scribbles she had made. but, to kurt, it was extraordinary.
