A Dead Spark

The next day I walk back to the apartment after sleeping in the hotel room I drunkenly got. Now I have a painful headache and half a bottle of vodka left.

I honestly don't want to deal with any of them but I don't know the first thing about getting back to Storybrooke. So I'm stuck with them for the time being. Stuck with a liar that I am falling for and going home to a mother who respectfully needs to pull her head out her ass. I stop as I see the complex from across the street and sigh.

"This is it." I say before walking across the street, not expecting the sight in the lobby.

Emma is on the ground and Hook has Gold against a wall. Instantly I rush over and hit Hook over the head with the bottle of vodka. He collapses to the ground unconscious, surrounded by glass shards. I look at Gold to see a stab wound on his chest with some kind of yellow paste on it, I pull out a handkerchief and put pressure on the wound. Oh shit, Emma's still on the ground. Whipping around to face her I see that she is now standing up and looking at me with shock. I sigh in relief to see her conscious.

"I leave for one night and everything goes to shit." I grumble in anger as Neal and Henry come back down from the apartment.

"What the hell is going on?" He asks and I turn to him.

"Hook stabbed him. Neal take him upstairs, Emma be careful with Hook, he poisoned Gold and if you die by poison, I'll kill you." I say with more anger in my tone then I meant. Doing damage control with a hangover is not fun.

"He's gonna die?" Neal questions softly and as much as I want to calmly help him through this, I have no patience.

"If you don't move your ass, he will." I say and he snaps into action. I begin to follow him upstairs and leave Emma to deal with Hook.

"Is this a vodka bottle?" She questions and I huff in anger.

"Yes it is, any more questions before I try to save Gold's life?" I question sarcastically and she stays silent. "Good." I say before continuing to Neal's apartment.

Neal lays him down on the couch and I walk over to examine his wound. What is this shit?

"Is Mr. Gold going to be okay?" Henry asks me and I turn to him, putting my anger aside.

"I don't know, Henry. But I'll try to make sure he is." I say and Henry walks toward Emma when she enters.

"Found a storage room and locked our stab-happy pirate in there. Shouldn't be causing anyone else any problems." She says and I nod at her announcement. That's one problem dealt with. "And get this – he had a map on him. It looks like he sailed his ship here."

"How did he get his pirate ship to New York." Neal asks and I rub my head. Everyone's talking and I can't think.

"It's cloaked, now can everyone either stop asking questions or ask them quieter." I say and Emma whispers something to Henry before leading him into the other room.

"Ms. Mills." Gold says and I don't look away from the poison I'm trying to decipher with my racing thoughts. "Rose." He says and I look at him, he never calls me by my first name. "You can't think with that cuff on you, everyone here knows about magic. Take it off." He says and I sigh before removing my cuff.

Instantly my mind feels clearer and I see a faint pink light on the wall. I can feel the eyes of Emma and Neal on my back but I ignore it and continue to examine the poison. Based on the color created I can assume that one of the ingredients...is dreamshade.

"We need to get back to Storybrooke now. The only thing that can save him is his dark one magic." I say and turn to see Emma and Neal with shocked faces. "What?" I say and look to see Gold looking at me quizzically.
