Regina's POV
I was busy with my laptop when Ali entered my office together with one of my EMTs. I turned my attention to them.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. Uhmm ito na po 'yung consolidated files na hinihingi niyo. For your review and signature na lang po."
Andre said and walked towards me handing me the folder. I skimmed through it as he remained standing in front of my desk, smiling widely at me. Ugh. Cringe.
"Ay ma'am, pinasasabi po pala ni Richard na thank you at looking forward na po siya sa orientation at training next week."
I placed my signature on each of the paper's pages, and took a glance at him, wondering why he still hasn't left my office.
"Actually ma'am, may isa pa po pala kaming friend na gusto sana namin ipasok dito. Sana pumayag..." he cleared his throat. "Uhmm so...ayun po hehe."
"Thanks for this. Anything else?" I closed the folder and placed it inside the drawer. I turned to him, a smile still plastered on his face. Annoying.
"Uhmm wala na po ma'am. Sige po. Alis na po ako. Thank you rin po." he said and awkwardly walked towards the door.
I heaved out a sigh for Ali is looking at me as if I did something wrong. Again.
"Andre," I called for his attention. "Thank you. I hope your friend will consider it." and forced myself to smile at him.
"Sana nga ma'am. Salamat din po." he gladly said and finally left.
I rolled my eyes and turned to Ali, chuckling. Here he goes again. Palagi na lang niya akong pinagtatawanan whenever it looks like that I'm inappropriately dealing with humans.
But I don't see anything wrong with how I converse with Andre.
"Humans are weirdly irritating 'no? That's why I don't like them." I told him as I got back to work. "Scratch that! Men. I don't like men. Women? They feed me. I've got no choice but to like them, right?"
"Pero mukhang may gusto sa'yo ang isang 'yun." he told me and let out a small laugh. I didn't mind him. It's not as if I care about those stupid lame things that trashy humans do.
I do not like it. Even just the idea of it.
Ugh. Whatever. Ali is half-human anyway, even him can be irritating at times.
"Oo nga pala, Regina. Si Noah, nasa ospital siya ngayon." I frowned but still focused on my laptop. "Mukhang nagbabakasakali sa isang Martean." he added making me turn to him.
"Really? Akala ko ba hindi siya interesado? Ano naman kayang pang-uuto ginawa ni Zaldy sa kanya?"
"Regina, ang sinasabi ko lang is... 'pag nalaman 'to ng dad mo—"
"Hushh! I know. I know." I rolled my eyes and clicked my tongue. "Can you not be like him!? Nakita mo namang mainit na naman ulo sa akin nu'n kanina, 'di ba? And I don't get it! Ako pa rin naman ang makakakuha sa Martean at hindi 'yang talunan na si Noah."
"Ano na bang plano mo?"
Ugh! This is so frustrating! I can't believe that Noah will eventually make a move. Or maybe it's purely coincidental, and him being there is part of his stage acts to win the upcoming elections.
Ang alam ko, hindi siya interesado sa mga bampira and that he prefers to be a human. Unlike Zaldy, he's only human but he wanted to be like us, that's why he is so eager to compete with the other soldantes. He wanted Zora's power. He wanted to be immortal. And he needs his son to do that.
