chapter 3

(3Days later)

Reya I need to talk to you about something honey.

Sure Maggie, is everything okay?

Oh yes, nothing to worry about.
I wanted to let you know that I plan on retiring soon. I'm getting up in age and with my husband sick I think it's time.

When will you be retiring? I say with a sad smile.

Well I'm still working everything out at the moment, once everything is finalized I will let you know.
I smile and nod my head, I go back to the kitchen to get the red velvet cookies from the oven, when I hear the bells on the door chime letting me know someone has come in.

Coming I call out setting the cookies on the cooling rack.
I go out to the front and see sora standing there dressed in black slacks and a dark red shirt with a single gold chain on holding flowers in his hand.
I walk over to where he's standing.

H-Hey what are you doing here?

He hands me the flowers, I saw these and thought about you.

Oh that was sweet thank you, I can feel myself blushing, I try to hid it before he could see.
Can I get you anything? Coffee, tea, maybe a cookie?

He chuckles, no I'm fine I just want to know when I can take you out.
Are you free tonight?

U-uh yes I get off in an hour.

Okay great, I'll pick you up at 8pm

Okay sure, I write down my address and hand it to him. He takes my hand and kisses it before leaving.
Why do I feel so nervous around him. I've talked to guys before, why does he make me feel this way.
I finish my shift and head home.

As I pull up I see resse's car in the driveway, great she's home.
RESSE! I call out, I have a date tonight I need your help, I yell out while placing my keys and purse on the side table.

YOU HAVE A WHAT! Resse and Corbin yell running to the railing. They look at each other and back at me.

I'm being serious guys, resse I need an outfit.

We're being serious too, YOU! actually said yes to go on a date with someone.

Yesssss, omg it's not that hard to believe.

YES IT IS! They say together.

Reya you my girl, but you haven't been on a date since high school, she says going into her closet.
We laugh and she pulls out a cute black dress with silver chains connecting the neck piece to the dress.

Wow resse it's beautiful, are you sure you want to let me wear it?

Girl I bought that a year ago and never wore it.
I take the dress and head to my room to get dressed. I shower and resse helps me with my hair and make-up.

Its 7:50 and we hear a knock at the door.
Corbin can you get the door! A few minutes later we walk down to the living room where Corbin and sora are.
Resse leans into me, girl you didn't tell me your date was sora.

I give her a shy smile, we'll talk when I get home. She nods and me and sora walks out the door. Sora takes my hand and leads me to the car he opens the door and I get in.

You look beautiful tonight reya.
I notice him eye me up and down as he pulls out the driveway.
About 30 minutes later we arrived at a beautiful restaurant. Sora opens my door and helps me out, he hands his keys to the parking attendant and we go inside.
The host greets us and shows us to our table.

So tell me about yourself reya.

Well I love to bake, I've been working on a few new recipes.

Oh, how long have you been baking? is that why you started working at the café?

Kind of I meet Maggie at a bake sale a few years back and she loved my pastries so much she offered me a job and I've been there ever since.

Our food finally comes out and we eat and talk a little more. After we're done he stands up and holds out his hand for mine. Come on beautiful, I take his hand as we leave. After a short drive we park the car by a beautiful garden with a mermaid fountain right in the middle of it. We walk the path through the garden arm and arm. We talk and admire the beautiful sight infront of us.

So sora we've been talking about me all night, tell me something about you. What do you do?

Well me and my brother James owns a few businesses, I'm  different than the average guy

Sora takes out his phone and sends a text. It's getting late I should get you home. We walk back to the car and get in. The ride is quite I can tell something upset him. 30 minutes later we pull up to my house. He opens my door and helps me out.

My pleasure, he says stepping closer to me. I hope we can do this more often.

Sure I'd like that, I step closer to him and kiss him good night, I turn and go in the house and close the door.
Resse is sitting on the couch watching tv.

I'm so glad your home, how was the date tell me everything.

Damn you nosey, I say laughing as I sit on the couch with her. He was so romantic we went to dinner, then he took me to a beautiful garden and had a nice walk  it was just so romantic.

Awwwe my girl is growing up, she chuckles. I'm happy you enjoyed yourself reya you deserve happiness.
Is there going to be a second date?

I dont know i mean it was nice but im still so nervous around him every time i see him i get butterflies ya know? but it's late I'm gonna go shower and hit the bed I've got work in the morning.
