chapter 5

Malik, it's been a while how are you? He stands up and shakes my hand.

I'm doing well sora, I've come to power up james and your daylight rings, and unfortunately deliver some bad news. Malik takes our rings and does his spell. Once done he hands them back.

So what's the bad news I ask, looking from James to Malik. James hangs his head with a sad look on his face.

Sora, Cesar was killed two nights ago the police said it was a robbery gone wrong. They found him with his throat ripped out and his safe in his office had been emptied.

I-I, no words will come, my eyes fill with tears, James walks over to me and puts a hand on my sholder.
I am so sorry brother, he says looking to me then to Malik.

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh I cry out in pain. You see Cesar was the first person I've ever turned he was sick and dying he was my only friend before james turned me and I couldn't let him die I needed him. He was my best friend for over 200 years.
I jump up and turn to Malik, who killed him? My eyes turn red with blood lust, I'll kill who ever did this.

We aren't sure yet, when we find them they will die I'll see to it.

When you find them you will call me, I will handle them myself.

I get up and head to my room.

(Flash back)

Come on man mercy, mercy

I let go of Cesar and help him up.

Your strong as a new born but you need to work on your strategy, your all over the place. I toss Cesar a blood bag.
I turn my back to leave out the room.

I hit the floor with a hard thud, Cesar tackled me, I roll on my back and kick him off me then pin him when he hits the floor.

He looks at me and I look at him laughing, so mercy? He lets out a sigh mercy. We get up and leave.
You know I never really thanked you Sora, you know for saving me.

You are my best friend my brother Cesar, besides if you were gone I'd have no one to wreak havoc with.
We start laughing
(End flash back)

I can't believe he's gone. My best friend. In a fit of rage I knock everything off of my dresser and fall to the floor,

Sora! James and renee comes in Renee wraps her arms around me. Hey, hey, everything is going to be okay. I know it hurts to lose someone as close as you and Cesar were, it's going to hurt. She holds me close and james pats my sholder. I see why he loves renee so much she's so kind and understanding, and she loves him even after knowing what we are she still loves him. I hug her back and then stand up. Thanks guys I just need to be alone for a while.

(3 weeks later reya's pov)

It's been a few weeks since I've seen or spoken to sora. James told me his best friend was killed and needed time, I've texted him a few times but no response.
He was no where to be seen at the bridle party even though james and a few of his friends were at the house.
I gave up texting and calling him, I must admit I'm sad that he's ghosting me.
I'm walking to the bathroom when I hear corban and resse talking, now usually I'm not the one to ease drop but hearing sora's name I had to, I need to know whats going on.

(Convo between Corbin and resse)

Any word on sora?

Renee says he's been hunting down who ever killed his friend.

Dam, why can't we just tell reya it'll make things so much easier for her.

You know we can't do that, he has to tell her just like when I told you, resse I know she's your friend she's my friend too but THIS WE CAN'T TELL HER.

ugh, she lets out a soft sigh, I know Corbin but I hate seeing her like this, I'm gonna go check on her.

OH SHIT! I hurry and run to the bathroom and close the door right as she comes out her room.
I flush the toilet and walk out the bathroom.

Oh hey reya I was just coming to check on you, you okay?

Yes I'm fine, I smile at her and walk to my room. I start getting ready for work, and resse stands in my door way fidgeting with her hands.

Reya, I'm worried about you.

I'm fine resse honestly, i say pulling my hair into a bun.

Reya you don't talk to us much anymore, You're either at work all day or in here studying all day.
Ever since sora-
I raise my hand to cute her off.
Im fine, I've just been working alot so I can save up for my birthday and as far as studying goes I talked to our dean, I almost have enough credits to graduate early, I'm fine okay. I give her a hug and pat her back.

Are your coming to james birthday dinner with us tonight?

Yes I'll meet you there, she waves at me and I leave out the house and head to the café.

(20 minutes later)

I walk in the café and see Maggie at the counter, I smile and walk to the back and hang my things, then walk back to the front. I take a look at Maggie and she looks a little flushed.

Hey Maggie why don't you go home I'll take over from here.

Oh thank you dear I must have gotten a little cold she stands and pats my hand and leaves.

(6hours later)

I lock up and head home, once home I head
Straight to the shower, I let the hot water run over my body I use my favorite lemon scrub and exfoliate my whole body. I step out the shower refreshed and ready for the night.
