you smiled once you left the restaurant with your mom and sister. grace loved her dinner, so did you. you did wonder, though, why you went out for dinner. you were walking over to your moms vehicle when your mom bumped into someone.
your mom looked over, smiling, motioning for you to come over. then you recognized her son, the glasses kid who seems to be friends with bill. "hey kiddo, this is maggie tozier and her son, richard, your mom introduced.
the boy named richard smiled. you smile back. "how do you know her, mom?" "we work together, (m/n) replied. this made more sense. richard smiled. but you could fell he was feeling uncomfortable like you were.
"maybe richard and (y/n) could hang out, your mom offered. you mouthed no, but mrs. tozier seemed pleased with her offer. oh god, you thought. grace was whining to go home. mrs. tozier laughed, your mom did as well.
you wondered if he liked being called something else. you've seen him before, of course, you didn't share classes with him but your mom obviously knew him. "richie, he whispers. you look confused. "hm?"
"i prefer richie."
"nice meeting you, richie."
he smiles, lifting up his glasses so they fit his eyes. "nice meeting you too, (y/n)." you walk off with your mom and sister. you'd heard he was sort of a trashmouth at school. here, he seemed super polite and well mannered.
maybe he was being this way as a show or something.
you get in your car. grace yawns, quickly falling asleep. you were close to falling asleep yourself, you were strong enough, though, keeping your eyes open while you drove home. when you arrived home, you fell asleep once you plopped yourself on your bed.
you didnt sleep well, you had constant nightmares of some dumb clown named pennywise. obviously, you knew you were having some stupid nightmare. pennywise only existed in your dreams.
or so you thought.
when you woke up in the morning, you were still exhausted. you didn't get good sleep. "hey honey, your mom said, concern on her face, coming in your room. "i heard you scream last night, is everything okay with you?"
you still were under your covers, you nodded, yawning. "i'm gonna sleep some more, just... because i'm so... exhausted, mom." she nodded, closing your door. you quickly close your eyes, but in your mind, you could only see the horrid clown, mocking you, then those words.
"you'll float too, (y/n), we all do down here, so will you, soon enough."
you remember very well, which sounded weird, considering you never remember any of your dreams, hell, let alone nightmares. you remembered how helpless you were in your dream, so terrified.
you still kind of were.
you keep squeezing your eyes shut, hoping you'd get some sleep. when you couldn't, you simply open your eyes, assuring yourself he wasn't real, just something your mind made up. you turn to your window on your second story of your house, giving you a good look of derry.
your window was right by your bed, so you witness people being busy, while you were shaking wifh fear. you hated being so scared of some dumb dream of yours, but you were. you plastered a fake smile while you biked around your neighborhood.
you cherished moments like these, when you were happy, carefree. you bike into town, your mom might be worried, but, you thought of something you needed to do. you were aware you were being followed while you biked, but ignored fhe feeling, since, this could be anybody driving by.
well, until you hear someone whistle, then you knew who was following you. "fucking bowers, you mumble, hoping you could hide somewhere. "come on, cutie, henry says. he's been creepy for a while.
maybe kicking them in the balls would make them leave me be, you thought grumpily, knowing you could hide. not while they could see you. you swerve, so they swerve, however, henry loses control, so you use the chance to hide.
you hide in fhe alleyway. you hear someone say, "hiding from bowers gang, too?" you look over, seeing someone you didn't recognize. he looked kind, though. "yeah, unfortunately, you chuckle. "i'm mike, you? he asks.
you smile. "(y/n), i've never seen you around, you new around derry?" mike shook his head. "i'm homeschooled, and usually working on fhe farm." "makes sense why i've never seen you, you say. "why do fhe bowers gang bully you? they bully everyone so i know why you're hiding."
"racist, he shrugs."henry poisoned my dog as well." you frown. "i'm so sorry. for me, they like me or something, so every chance they have they flirt." henry was obviously fucked up if he murdered dogs with no mercy, humans of course too.
if he murdered people.
he smiles."i should be going, i hope i see you around, (y/n)." you nod, watching him bike off. you feel horrible for mike, you wish you could help him. but right now, you couldn't. you hid there for a bit longer, hoping they would move on, forgetting you hid somewhere or something.
but, knowing the bowers gang, they never forget. you've learned that many times. maybe too many on your part, but like usual, nobody in derry, the adults at least, did nothing. you wondered why, was something holding them back?
you figured so, but didn't exactly know why. so why assume when you know nothing? something you learned from a young age.

you got home feeling watched. you figured who was watching you, but had the feeling you weren't being watched by just one person, so you, for now, were ignoring them. besides, what more could you do? when you did have the opportunity, you'd be them up or something.
you didn't know for sure.
because, if they could overpower you, you'd probably give in if there was no use in fighting. you sigh, closing your window curtains. your mom made sure your house was safe, so you figured, fhe creeps couldn't see you now.
why me? you thought, screaming in your pillow from being so pissed off. you had the shittiest day ever.
