you knew you fell asleep but didn't expect grace sleeping beside you peacefully. you quietly left her room, so you wouldn't disturb her sleep. you groan once you were gone from her room. "what time is it?"

you rub your eyes, adjusting to the darkness, walking over so you could check the time. you frown, realizing it was three in the morning. you should've remained beside grace, but went in your room, falling back asleep, hoping grace wouldn't be upset.

when morning arrived, you felt better but grace crossed her arms, pouting in your doorway. "how come you left my room, sissy?" you sigh. "i'm sorry, i couldn't sleep anymore. until i could. i promise, i'll fully fall asleep wifh you tonight, hm?"

she grinned, before nodding, dragging you with her downstairs. you didn't mind when she was persistent on what she wanted, you were like that when you were younger, too. you sit in your usual spot while your mother handed you your breakfast. you were starving.

for some reason, in the middle of the night, you began feeling hungry. so you were happy. "what is on your agenda today, (y/n)? (m/n) asked you.

you shrugged."i'm not sure, mom." you weren't lying, you didn't know what you were going to do today. but your mother preferred you being active so when you were she was fairly happy about it.

living in derry your whole life, you knew how this fucking town was. from an outside perspective, it looked like the perfect town that was safe.

it wasn't, not with a crazy clown on your tail. well as rumors said amongst the kids that there was a creepy clown going around and killing the missing kids, thus why they were missing.

the amount of missing children was enough to scare people away, especially those with children. you understood, but apparently derry didn't scare your parents because you were here, in this secretly a hellhole of a town.

"well you should go outside more, (m/n) commented. "I do go outside a lot, you reply slightly harshly."I might not want to today and that's fine, mom."

she was taken aback by your harshness then saying,"alright, just making a suggestion." you were surprised she didn't snap at you and threaten to ground you, but she probably wasn't at that breaking point yet.

you don't plan to put her to that point anyway. your mother, even having a kind and gentle mature scared you sometimes.

which is why you were quite popular in town, at least your mother, being known as a kind and caring woman. your life wouldn't be in danger because of that reputation.

well, it was, but not for the reasons people would assume. you had creeps on your tail and you couldn't hide from them much longer, not after that incident.

you shiver after remembering it. "are you okay, honey? you've barely touched your food, your mother said. you thought you were eating it and began eating, you said assuringly,"i'm fine, mom. don't worry. i just zoned out that's all."

you wouldn't tell (m/n) about feeling unsafe in your own home, she'd become very protective and having an overprotective mother doesn't sound very fun, you've seen that in eddie kaspbrak .

everyone knew sonia kaspbrak in derry but not for good reasons. she was seen as crazy and overbearing and rumors spread of her pretending her son was sick for attention or to at least keep him in the house for long periods of time.

what kind of mother does that?

eddies mom apparently, but you never said anything about her in front of him, only person who ever did was the most annoying bitch you've ever met, greta keene, daughter of fhe creepy and possibly pedophile father, mr. keene, who was a pharmacist.

you've been in the pharmacy before, you were even positive he owned it but you weren't sure. he eyed you creepily many times, your mom insisted you never go there by yourself, which you were happy to obey.

once you finished, you announce, "i'm going in my room." your mom nodded. you wondered if your father ever came home last night. your mom didn't look very well, well, she looked more sad than normal.

"hey mom, did dad ever come back home from work? you ask. her expression changing, she began crying, before telling grace she should go in her room, which she obeyed. "honey, your mom sniffed, she stopped crying. "sit down."

you nodded, you had a feeling on what (m/n) planned on saying, but hoped she wouldn't. you sit down beside her, she placed her hand on your knee, which means this was serious. "your father left, your mom said.

"left? you reply, in shock. she nods."i came home and his things were gone. he left me a note, he found someone new. which is why, he never is with us anymore." "so you need to work extra hours now? you ask.

she nodded. "so sometimes, you'll need to cook dinner for your and your sister, or leftovers. i'm hoping this will only happen rarely but i'm not sure." you took everything in while you held back your emotions. you wished you could cry, but not now, not in front of your mother.

(m/n) hugged you, and you hugged back, going in your room, ignoring grace, which you normally never did, but you needed some space by yourself right now. you knew your father probably was seeing someone else, but never expected for him to get up and leave.

and you wondered why he didn't even say goodbye to you or grace, sure he had been distant but you expected at least a simple goodbye.

he must've hated you that much to not even say a single word to you, just leaving. what did you do wrong? was it you? or was it the fact that his new woman wanted him to forget his old life? his old family?

you didn't know her, but assumed she knew of you, so, this made her a whore. you could be wrong, but he wouldn't leave if she didn't know. you shook your head, your angry thoughts leaving your mind.

he never loved you to begin with.
