"I hope I can get Draco drunk enough to kiss me!", Pansy squealed excitedly as Astoria did her hair.
I rolled my eyes.
Alcohol would be desperately needed for this.
My eyes fell on Astoria, who just nodded silently. Poor girl.
I knew she had a crush on Draco too, but she would never tell Pansy.
I wouldn't in her place either. Pansy wasa real fury when it came to my brother.
I put on my shoes and headed for the door.
"Oh Y/N? What does Draco like more? Blue or red?", Pansy asked, holding her Dress up. I looked again at Astoria, who was quietly putting on her earrings.
"Blue.", I lied and Astoria looked at me frowning. When Pansy turned I gave
Astoria a quick wink, which she returned with a slight smile and then went downstairs.
The party was already in full swing and I waskept an eye out for Theodore.
"Want a drink?", Blaise asked me, holding out a green drink towards me.
Hesitantly, I took it and eyed him.
"Fascinating. You'd think it was poison," I said and he laughed.
"Nice thought, but no. Just a cocktail of the Slytherin kind."
I smelled it and screwed up my face.
"More like a cocktail full of alcohol. What the hell did you guys poured
together to make it green?", I asked.
Someone took the glass from my hand.
"Whatever it is, you're certainly not going to drink it.", Draco said, giving
Blaise a withering look.
I shrugged my shoulders.
I wasn't going to drink it anyway.
Draco handed me a blue cocktail.
"The green ones are with alcohol, the blue ones are without.", he said and I
noddedgratefully.
"Come on guys, it's time for a round of truth or dare! You know the rules!
Nothing may be refused!", Markus shouted and we gathered in a circle.
At least, those of us who were playing along.
How had I ended up in that circle?
"Hey."
I turned to the side and Theodore grinned at me.
"You're finally here. I was beginning to think you-"
"Pansy! Truth or dare?", Markus shouted loudly, interrupting me.
If he wasn't blotto, I didn't know either.
"Truth."
"Who do you like?", he asked and her eyes automatically drifted to Draco.
"Draco.", she said softly and she was already spinning the bottle, which
stopped at Crabbe.
"Dare.", he said proudly.
"Kiss Goyle."
Disgusted, he screwed up his face and pressed a kiss to Goyle's lips, while
the rest of us laughed.
Admittedly, this evening was pretty funny so far.
Crabbe spun the bottle.
"Theodore. Truth or dare?", he asked him.
"Dare."
I raised my eyebrows.
Brave, after the action with Crabbe and Goyle.
Crabbe considered for a moment, then grinned.
"The first person who calls you by your name... you must kiss."
Theodore nodded and then it was his turn. The bottle stopped at Draco.
Oh dear. I hope this didn't backfire.
"Dare.", Draco said arrogantly and Theodore nodded thoughtfully.
I took tensely a sip of my cocktail.
"Put on a dress."
I choked and started laughing out loud. Draco looked at us angrily and was then dragged upstairs by Pansy and Astoria.
"Please tell me you brought a camera.", I whispered to Theodore and he actually pulled out a camera.
"I'm always prepared.", he grinned, thrusting it into my hand.
When Draco came downstairs wearing a pink dress, I laughed tears and snapped some quick photos.
It was truly a picture for the gods.
If Dad could see him like that!
Grumbling, Draco downed a green cocktail and then twisted the bottle.
"Truth or dare, Blaise?"
"Truth."
"Do you like anyone at the moment?"
"Yes.", he said, then twisted the bottle.
"Y/N. Truth or dare?", he asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Since it was Blaise who made me choose...
"Truth."
"Which Slytherin guy do you find most attractive?", he asked.
I didn't actually have to think about it for long.
"Theo.", I answered and suddenly Theodore turned my face in his direction, bent down to me and put his lips on mine.
My eyelids flickered and I closed my eyes. Although I had not drunk any
alcohol I felt terribly warm. Much too quickly he let go of me again and I
looked at him in confusion.
Somehow I didn't understand at all what had just happened here.
"You said my name.", Theodore whispered in my ear and I got goosebumps.
Ah.... right. I totally forgot that.
Theodore stood up straight again and I looked around the room and noticed the others smirking at us. I quickly looked away again.
Lord, that was unpleasant.
I desperately needed some fresh air. Theodore looked at me and I pointed to the door. Smiling, he took my hand and we sneaked outside to the lake.
I gleefully sucked in the cool night air, while Theodore lay down on the grass. Today the moon shone so brightly that I could not see the stars at all.
Too bad.
"Could you please sit down?", Theodore asked and I looked down at him.
"Why? I actually like standing.", I said. Theodore turned his head away and
put his arm over his eyes.
What was going on now?
Through the moonlight, I could see that his ears were all red.
Was he sick?
"I can... I can look under... your dress.", he said softly.
What?
When I realized what he had said, I suddenly blushed and quickly dropped to my knees.
This was so embarrassing!
I looked towards the castle and recognized a small light, which slowly came closer in our direction.
I squinted my eyes to see better.
"Theo... Filch is coming.", I said and he pulled me down to him.
Then he pulled out his wand and waved it in the air.
"Cave inimicum.", he whispered and I looked around in confusion.
What had thataccomplished now?
I was still looking in Filch's direction. Not much longer and hewould see us, too.
"I think..."
Theo put his hand over my mouth so I couldn't talk any further.
Why did he stay so quiet? Wasn't he afraid of getting into trouble?
Now Filch was practically walking right past us, looking off to the side.
Right at me and Theodore. I held my breath, but he turned back to the front and kept walking.
Impossible that he hadn't seen us!
Theodore took his hand away.
I stood up and with my first step forward I slammed into something.
"Damn...", I cursed softly and rubbed my forehead. Theodore laughed and I
reached out my hand cautiously. Something prevented me from extending my arm completely.
"Invisible wall.", Theodore said.
"Ahhh.", I made witty and sat down again.
"You know a lot of handy spells, don't you?", I asked curiously and he nodded.
When did he actually find the time to learn so much?
"What else can you do?"
Theodore held his wand in my direction.
"Orchideous."
A bouquet of orchids erupted from his wand and I laughed.
This was such a beautiful spell!
I took the flowers and smelled them. They were really real!
"Y/N!", I heard Draco call out and I turned around. The way he was staggering back and forth... he seemed to be pretty drunk. He waved me over to him and I sighed.
This was such a nice moment right now...
"Go." Theodore said, smiling at me.
"Aren't you coming in?", I asked as I stood up and he shook his head.
"I'll stay a while."
I nodded and walked over to Draco, but turned back to Theodore.
He just lay there quietly, staring up at the sky.
How I would liked tostayed there.
"What are you doing out here?", Draco asked slurred and I rolled my eyes.
"I could ask you the same thing.", I replied annoyed and supported him as he walked.
I wonder if Pansy had managed to kiss Draco in this state.
Chills ran down my spine.
I hope she hadn't.
"I was looking for Y/N. Have you seen her?"
"Draco, I AM Y/N.", I said, having to stifle a laugh.
If I thought about it, I had never seen Draco drunk before.
Maybe I should take advantage of that.
"Ah..." he made and slowly we walked down the stages. Suddenly Draco turned around and I tugged on his arm.
"Where are you going now?"
"I was...was going to look for Y/N.", Draco said seriously, getting a Hiccup.
Oh man...
This was going to be more exhausting than I had thought.
I snapped my fingers in front of his face.
"Hey, look at me. Draco!"
As if hypnotized, his gaze followed my hand and I took his face between my
hands.
"Now listen to me carefully. I'm Y/N, your sister and I'm going to take you to bed, okay?"
Draco nodded with a grin.
I took a deep breath and just as I was about to go further with him, he pushed me against the wall to and I almost slipped on the step.
"You're lying because.... because Y/N isn't my sister at all."
By Merlin's beard, I was going insane.
"Alright, got it. You're saying this because of my 'I'm adopted' talk, right?"
Draco just stared at me.
His eyes were all glazed over and he was breathing rather heavily.
"Are you going to the ball with me,
Y/N?", he asked quietly and I blinked a few times.
Huh?
As Draco's face slowly approached mine, I held my breath and squeezed narrowed my eyes. Joking or not, this was clearly going too far! He was my brother, after all!
I felt Draco's head fall onto my shoulder and opened my eyes.
I took a deep breath and quickly hold of Draco as he threatened to fall over.
I would kill him.
Definitely.
As soon as he was sober.
I looked around and sighed. Great. How was I going to get him into bed now?
"Help?", I called out softly.
Of course, no one heard, but I couldn't think of anything else.
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone sneaking through the castle.
"Helloooo?", I started a new attempt and two identical looking guys peeked
around the corner.
Fred and George Weasley, if I wasn't mistaken.
"While you're here, wouldn't you like to help me?", I asked and they looked at each other indecisively.
"You're from Slytherin, aren't you?"
"And Draco Malfoy's sister.", the other added.
"And you're quite prejudiced.", I said dryly and the two of them started
grinning and came around the corner.
"What's wrong?", asked... whoever he was, and I pointed at Draco.
"Drunk?"
I nodded and the twins each grabbed one of his arms and carried him to the
common room, where I quickly fetched Blaise and Markus, who took Draco from them.
Shaking my head, I looked after them and then turned to Fred and George.
"Well. Thanks for the help. I owe you something.", I said and one of them
wiggled his eyebrows.
"Did you hear that, George? She owes us something."
"We'll come back to that.", I guess George said.
I had kind of a bad feeling about it. The two of them left again and I made my way to the dormitory, where
I found a howling Pansy. Astoria tried to comfort her, but she might as well
have been talking to a wall.
I wasn't spared anything today, though.
Pansy looked at me and angrily stood up.
"You!", she shouted angrily and started to push me backwards by the shoulder.
"Pansy, stop it...", Astoria said, but was completely ignored.
"This is all your fault! I had almost kissed Draco and then he had to go
looking for you because you ran off to shag Theodore Nott!"
Excuse me... what?
"You're crazy, Parkinson.", was all I said, and I was about to go to bed, but
she wouldn't let me pass. I really wasn't in the mood for this drama.
"Move aside, or..."
"Or WHAT? WHAT?", she screamed, swinging her hands wildly through the air.
I was still trying to avoid it, when her fingernails scratched across my cheek.
A searing pain flashed through my face.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
Calm, Y/N. Stay calm.
"Oh my goodness...", Astoria whispered in horror and I looked at the startled Pansy angrily.
"Move aside.", I repeated and she moved a few steps away.
Tired, I let myself fall into bed.
"I'm so sorry Y/N.... You.... don't tell Draco about this, do you?", Pansy
asked in a panic, but I didn't answer her.
I wish I hadjust stayed with Theodore. The next morning I woke up and went to the bathroom. Dried blood still stuck to my cheek and I quickly removed it with warm water.
The two long scratches were clearly visible and I sighed.
Maybe I should go to Madam Pomfrey with this.
When I went into the common room, the empty bottles were still lying around everywhere all over the room. In addition, some sleeping students who had probably not made it to bed. Were they lucky that it was the weekend...
Someone came down the stairs with a groan and I started to grin.
"Sleep well, Mr. Alcoholic?", I asked Draco and he held his head.
Someone must have had a pretty nasty hangover.
"Be quiet...", he said annoyed and looked at me.
Suddenly he opened his eyes, came up to me and put his hand on my chin to turn my cheek in his direction.
"Who was that?", he asked, visibly angry and I rolled my eyes.
"A little cat snuck into my bed at night and..."
"That's not funny, Y/N.", he interrupted me seriously. I knew that myself, but I also didn't want to make a big deal out of it unnecessarily.
"It's just a scratch.", I said soothingly and he raised an eyebrow.
"It's two."
"Now you're getting fussy.", I laughed.
"One visit to Madam Pomfrey and they're gone. No need to worry, hm?", I said and he ran his other hand through his hair.
"I'll go with you.", he said firmly, pulling me along behind him.
When I thought back to last night, it was kind of strange to hold his hand.
I wonder if he could remember it.
When we arrived at the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey quickly tooked care of my wound and then shooed us out again.
"See. It's gone.", I said, but Draco was still pacing around frowned and
squeezed my hand tighter.
I stopped in my tracks.
"Draco?"
"What?"
"Would you... let go... now?", I asked quietly and he looked down at our hands.
"You've never asked me to do that before.", he said and I laughed nervously.
"Well, we're not kids anymore, you know...", I said. Draco nodded resignedly and let go of my hand. Then he turned around and just
walked on.
I stared at my hand and then at Draco's back, which was getting
farther and farther away from me.
Somehow this situation felt... wrong.
