My phone rings, and I answer without taking my eyes off the road.

I hear shuffling, then he tells someone to put something somewhere. "Ja. Yuh nay say ya guh fawod Ina the place lata."

The call ends, and I press harder on the gas pedal.

"Siri, call Mona."

"Hey." She answers
"Up.. weh yuh say bout a party lata wid me and Orlando?" I ask.
"Dominic a really party you a call mi fa and me and the people Dem son just a get comfortable."
Yuh know say this lady likkle bit and bright.
"Alright, ma'am," I answer.
"It's just a joke... mi can come, but who's going to pick me up?"
"Weh yuh brace?"
"Sunny side."
"Ah Ago call yuh back when mi near."

I honk my horn when I pull up to the house I was directed to, and Mona walks out in short tights and a sports bra to pull the gate.
"From time mi call yuh all now you nu ready likkle girl?" I ask as soon as I get out.
She hisses and walks back inside, and I follow while looking around.
"No.. mi nu find nothing sensible fi wear." When I reach inside, she pulls me to her room, and her bed is covered with clothes.
"Lady.. just fling on one a Dem ya nu, Eeh put on this." I toss the first thing I see that looks like a dress.
"Yuh mad.. yuh wa everybody see unda mi! By right mi nu know why that on the bed." She frowns.
Yeah mi na stay in yerr fi this.
"Ma guh out deh Suh. Find something wear and quick to." I leave the room, and she hisses.
After minutes of waiting, she finally comes out in a short blue jumpsuit.
"Zip this fi mi.. and if yuh mek the zip pinch mi yuh na guh like it." She says, then turn her back to me.
"Bad yuh bad." I laugh, then zip it.
"It stay good?" She asks when she turns to me.
"Can gwan yes.. now nu bother mek mi wait a next hour."
