'Home Sweet Home'

I entered the airport to see... crowd... "Excuse me, excuse me." I somehow made my way to the line. I never knew a line to Italy could be THIS long... Without any other option, I sighed and joined the queue.

~30 minutes later~

Finally, it's my turn! "Sir, can I please see your ticket and passport?" The attendant said. "Oh, yeah, here," I said as I showed her the ticket and my passport. She stamped it and told me the way to the flight.

I entered and checked for my seat. "14-c..." I mumbled as I studied every seat number. "May I help you, sir?" A flight attendant asked. "Um, I need to find seat number 14-c," I answered. She showed me the way to my seat, and I thanked her politely. I put my bags in their respective places and sat down.

A young girl who probably looked around my age sat on the seat beside me. I smiled at her to be friendly, and she smiled back. "So you're going to Italy too?" I asked, wanting to kill this awkward silence. "Oh, yes, I am going there as well." She replied in a friendly voice. She seems nice.

I think this flight will be better than I expected it to be. "It is my first time on a flight... so I am kind of nervous..." I spitted out the truth. She chuckled but in an amicable way. "Don't worry. It won't be that bad. Unless you are afraid of heights cause... you have a window seat." She said as she pointed towards the window. I nodded. "I don't know much about it, so...I guess it won't be so bad." I replied.

"Anyways, I am Jay. And you?" I said perhaps she could help me in future. "I am Becky Roger," She answered. "If you are in trouble in future, you can call me." She said as she gave me a card with a smile. I accepted it, thanking her.

"Dear passengers, kindly put on your seat belt attached to your seats. Kindly turn on flight mode on your respective devices. We are about to depart and will reach in ---- hours. Thank you for choosing our airlines." The flight attendant announced. I started to look for the belt. "Hold on, let me help." She said as she guided me on how to wear the belt. "Thanks," I mumbled, and she nodded.

Soon after, the flight took off. I sighed and closed my eyes, only to look outside. "Don't look out; you might get scared." Becky reminded, only to cause a jolt up and look at her. She giggled at my 'childish' behavior. "Cute."

She said as she stopped laughing. I rolled my eyes while laughing. It was peaceful until a baby started to cry. "Waaahhhh!" the baby cried, causing Becky to make a 'tsk.' sound. Many other people sighed and looked tired. The baby's mother apologised for the sudden noise in such a peaceful environment. Some assured her that was fine and normal, while the others were rolling their eyes or groaning. Becky may have been annoyed, but she was kind to the poor woman.

I smiled, put on my headphones, and listened to some peaceful music. 15 minutes later, I felt my eyes getting heavy, and I closed them, falling asleep. "Jay, wake up." I heard Becky call. I woke up and took off my headphones.

A flight attendant asked if I would take a magazine, newspaper or a book. "I'd um... what 'Thrill' books do you have?" I asked. "We have ******* by ------ , ******* by ------- and ****** by ------." She replied. "I'll take *******," I said, trying to mask the fact that I had just woken up. She gave me the book and left. I sighed and opened the book.

I put my headphones back on to concentrate on it. I hummed along to the rhythm as I turned a page. I started to feel overwhelmed, so I put down the book and took off my headphones. Oh gosh, it is going to be such a long journey.

~Lunchtime~

As I talked a bit with Becky, a flight attendant came to give us the food. Thanking her, we took our food. "Would you like any drink with it?" She asked. "Water, please." Both me and Becky said together. The flight attendant smiled and gave us both a bottle of water.
~3pm~
"Dear passengers, happy to inform you that we are about to reach to out location in an hour." The Pilot announced. Everyone sighed and made sure everything was in place. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Jay," Becky said with a kind smile. "I hope we meet soon." "Me too. Thank you for helping me and giving me some tips." I thanked her.

Soon we got out and reached the airport, and collected our bags. We got out of the airport, and turned out that Becky had someone waiting for her, so she left me.. all alone. I took out my phone, turned off the airplane mode and received a message saying "Welcome to Italy Jay." and Blah, blah, blah.

I remembered I had already rented an apartment which was a house in the owner's 3-story apartment. Damn... rich people. Well, he has his famous cafe, so maybe (with no other option) I'll work there.

I took a cab there to be welcomed by the owner's wife. " Benvenuto, young man!" Said the lady. "Thank you, miss. Are you perhaps Mrs. Klark?" I asked. "Yes, yes. You are Jay... I suppose." She replied, and I nodded my head. "Follow me; I will take you to your brand-new house." She said in a joyful voice.

I followed her to my new home. "Here is your beautiful new home!" She exclaimed. I giggled, "Thank you." I said as she gave me the keys and left. I opened the door and saw a stunning, clean, warm home awaiting me. I kept my bags inside and closed the door.

Home... Sweet... Home...
