I am not proud of the time between my updates, but my health comes first and right now i'm having a lot of issues with it, so bear with me please <3

Mel POV

"What the hell are those?" I choke out, almost staggering back in shock from the images I'm seeing.

Shock had burst my emotional barrier and all my feelings had tumbled out, flitting rapidly across my face for Brad and Lovac to see, but I couldn't do anything about it, I was still trying to process what I was seeing.

Horror, curiosity, fear, fascination, wonder, terror and disgust were all flying around my brain, I had no control over anything.

Are those? No, they can't be. It's impossible. But they could be... Are they reall-? Nah. But in his leg?! They've got to be fak-oh dear god no they're real aren't they? Shit.

My mind was so busy trying to control all my different emotions, I couldn't form coherent sentences, even in my mind. My mouth was tightly pursed and my eyes were wide.

"Show me again." I commanded, leaning forward to get a close look.

Lovac nodded, and Brad pulled up the side of pants leg again.

Regardless that it was the second time, seeing it still took my breath away, leaving me utterly speechless for the second time in a row.

Embedded In his leg, nestled amongst the flesh and bone, were three vicious throwing stars. They were just sitting there, there was no holster or anything to hang them on, they just seemed to fit perfectly, like the piece of a puzzle.

Their beautiful designs of swirling lines and textured carvings made them all look absolutely gorgeous, but at the same time, utterly lethal. They were completely unique, I had never seen anything like it, especially indented into a leg.

I unconsciously reached out to touch them, just to prove to myself that they were real, but his leg was hastily pulled away, just in time.

He seemed strangely attached to them, not willing to share, as if I'd steal or something. He acted like they were a part of him, not some foreign pieces of metal just chilling in his leg.

My usually quick mind, was finally processing what I was seeing, and the shock of it all was wearing off. I quickly shut my emotions down, my face becoming a blank mask again.

I was still completely shaken though, but not because of Brad's leg, but because of my slip of emotions. What if I had let something out accidentally, and tipped them off that I actually had my brain and memories back? I'd be screwed.

I really needed to get my act together, and fast.

My face may of looked calm and collected, but inside I couldn't of been more panicked. I just couldn't handle it, emergency sirens were going off in my mind, warning me that I was about to break down.

I could just imagine my usual sarcastic reply, the one if someone had showed me this when I was back at home, before this had all started, before I learnt about the real world I was actually living in.

"Oh hey, you know, I don't mind if you surprise the shit out of me, and pull this crazy-ass idea that you got your scientists to whip up outta their asses. No biggie, not a problem. I'm fact, it's good! Keeps me on my toes. You should do it more often."

There was only one way to handle the situation.

And that was to turn my emotions off. I was going to flip the humanity switch off.

Again.

"Okay." I said simply, my mind completely cleared, looking at the both of them, completely prepared for anything else they wanted to throw at me.
