Mel POV
"Rise and shine bitches!" Boomed a loud voice, shattering the peaceful silence of the morning. I heard footsteps coming closer and I groaned, rolling over and pulling the blankets up higher. Why was it so early? God, I swear it's not time to wake up. "Hey, you! Get up!" The voice was closer now, right in my ear. "NOW." The bars of my cage started rattling and I could literally feel the impaitence coming off from whomever was waking me up.
Hang on, who the hell is waking me up? I bolted upright and all the memories from the night before came rushing back.
I cursed under my breath and looked up at the beefed up man before me. He towered over me with a menacing glare. He was so tank, he looked like he could break a car in half, his bulging muscles were actually that massive. "Jesus, calm down Mr. Butchie." I muttered, settling my own glare on my face. "Sorry for breathin 'n all."
"How did you know his nickname?!" Said a excited, but sleepy voice.
"Aw you see, Butchie, it really does suit you. Butchie the body guard. A nice ring to it, I think." Said Rachel, laughing.
He turned around and strode towards Rachel's cage with a muderous glare. "Ya want another blackeye? If not, then shut it, bitch." He growled. Rachel's smirk faltered, but she held her own, mumbling "Whatever, you pussy. You can't even come in here anyway." He glowered at her, crossing his arms intimidatingly.
"So what's on the agenda today?" I asked, interrupting their stare-off. "I was thinking we do some shopping, get lunch then come home and give each other manicures, watch movies and gossip." I suggested, trying to imagine Butch getting a manicure. It was utterly impossible.
"Wha-" He started, but I cut him off.
"Oo, hang on! Pillow fights and popcorn too! How could I have forgotten about that." I interrupted, giggling.
I didn't have the chance to hear what his reply was because suddenly, the door opened and a second guard came in. He too, was massive and was carrying a set of keys in one hand. As soon as he came in, Beth, Rachel and Lissa looked instantly terrified and shrunk into the corners of their cages.
I frowned, confused. Was this bodyguard really so bad? He doesn't look that different from Butch, what if he is that Lovac guy? I wondered. I looked at him more closely, but he didn't seem to possess any more dominance or difference to Butch, he had the same black pants and t-shirt on as him and a small knife attached to his belt. The only difference between the two, was a long scar that went across his face from the middle of his forehead and past his right eye and down to his cheek.
He came to a stop outside my cage, completely ignoring the three other girls. I could see them all visibly relax when they realised that he wasn't here for them.
Oh, it was the keys they were afraid of.
It certainly didn't make me feel any better, but I was glad that they were being left alone for once.
"Let's just get her and get on with it." He commanded, coming closer to unlock my cage door. It took everything in me not to take a step back, my natural instinct, to get away from the danger, but at the end of the day, I knew it was inevitable, they were going to get me, I was stuck in a cage for gods sake, there wasn't a lot that I could do about it.
My only advantage was reigning in the emotions before they were acted out. That was the important bit because the less they could read me, the better. I needed to be smart, and think before I speak and act.
