Mel POV
"I advise you sit down." Beth said, as she sat on the floor of her cage. I sat down on my bed, confused. "Er, why?" I said, curious. I searched their faces and they were looking at me like I was a piece of fragile glass that could smash at any second.
"Oh, god. You think I'm going to freak out and then hyperventilate and go into intense shock, don't you? I asked. "Because I'm not that type of person, don't worry." I reassured.
"Well, you'd be surprised." Rachel said, "You should just honestly stay sitting down, and keep an open mind." She advised.
"Extremely open." Beth muttered, just loud enough for me to hear.
"Okay, I will, now go for it, I'm ready to hear it. Slavery, prostitution, ransom, whatever. Just tell me why I was taken." I pressed, eager for answers.
"You are gonna be turned into a werewolf!" Lissa blurted out quickly, then covered her hands over her mouth.
"LISSA!" Rachel yelled, looking absolutely murderous. "Shut. The. Hell. Up." She spat out, eyes sparkling with anger. Lissa looked upset and quietly backed into the shadows.
"Hahah good one Lissa! Nearly had me there." I laughed. God, she was so cute. "But what if I want to be a vampire or a witch? Do I not get any choice? Oh well."
"Ah, Mel?" Rachel said tentatively, looking at me worriedly. "Yeah?" I replied, wondering why she was so pissed off at Lissa. It was only a joke after all.
"Er... Lissa was telling the truth." She said gently, hesitantly, waiting for me to process what she was saying.
"Ha, pardon, what? Are you serious?" I said, with utter disbelief. Shivers, they probably drugged their food, well, what little food they seem to get. These girls must have gone insane, they've been here too long, I thought.
"Woah, slow down." I told Rachel gently, looking at her with concern. I mean, she didn't look insane, her eyes were focused and she seemed calm, but looks could be deceiving..
"No, Mel. Look at me. I am deadly serious. I am being completely honest, do I look like I'm taking the piss? No, I don't. You have to believe what I'm saying because its real." She sighed, looking frustrated. "I knew it would come to this eventually, I guess no one would believe me straight off the cuff so it needs to be shown, so you can believe us. We are all werewolves and you will become one too. Beth, do you mind?"
Beth nodded, completely serious and started taking off her clothes. "Ah, no." I said bluntly, in complete denial. No way. I just stood there, not knowing what else to say or do. What the are they up to? I wondered, is this part of some ultimate motive? This had really turned out to be a rather fucked up night. By this point Beth had taken off all her clothes, and had grabbed a sheet and was wrapping it loosely around herself.
"Beth?" I said tentatively. But Beth didn't respond, because she was too concentrated on what she was doing. I looked at her, horrified as she finally spoke up. "Whatever you do, don't scream." She said, and then, she fell.
For a gut-wrenching second, I thought that she was going to fall straight on her face and break it, but suddenly, in midair, her whole body gave a shudder and morphed. Some of her limbs elongated, whilst others shrunk, shifting to fit her new body. Her hands turned into paws and long, sharp claws protruded from her nails. Her whole face transformed, her ears growing pointed tips, teeth growing into viscous looking canines and her nose lengthening to form a muzzle. It all happened in a mere second. If I and blinked I'd of missed it, easily.
Beth, was no longer Beth. She was a wolf, and a huge one at that. I immediately stood up and stepped back, making some distance between us two.
She shook the sheet off herself and took a few steps forward, then sat, her tail swishing around her feet. Her fur was a gorgeous russet, red colour and her eyes were a magnificent blue, magnified by the colour of her coat.
