It was late at night Rimuru already snuck out of the Mansion to patrol the town in secret so that he would be ready when the attack commenced

The kidnapping of the children commenced and though it pained Rimuru to just sit back and watch he knew this was necessary if he stopped it the moment it happened it would arise suspicion besides it can also help locate the enemy without having to use too many of his skills that would also arise suspicion
An hour after the kidnapping Rimuru decided to show up he assured the villagers that he would find them
Concerned Villager: Please Rimuru help us

Rimuru: Right well I sensed the town was in danger the kids have gone missing so I decided to go help them
Rem: You would've done well to tell someone where you were going
Rimuru: Yeah sorry it slipped my mind but let's focus on the task at hand we need to find the kids they've been kidnapped and are probably in danger so I'm gonna save them
Rem: Right I'll go with you
Rimuru: You sure you don't have to do that and what about the mansion if we're both gone along with Roswaal being away
Rem: I was given orders to keep an eye on you it wouldn't be right if I failed to do so
Rimuru: Alright if you insist I can't refuse such a request from such an adorable maid
Rem slightly blushed as they both entered deeper into the forest

Before Rimuru could finish when he looked back at Rem he saw a Flail so close to his face he ducked and dodged to the right

Ciel: Master, Mabeasts are approaching
Rimuru: Rem we don't have time for this the kids are in danger and Mabeasts are approaching
Rem: Oh I have no doubt that the children are in danger funny how they disappeared when you happened to be missing
Rimuru: I told you I sensed trouble so I went to help them
Rem threw her flail but Rimuru just dodged as it smashed a tree in half
Rem: Stop with your lies you're a new form of scum gaining people's trust just to take advantage of them truly disgusting
