I began to smile and then the man in front yelled, "Charge!" The Telmarines charge towards Aslan. He roars and the men stop running. All of a sudden, the water beneath the bridge began to behave strangely. Then the water shot up in the air and formed the river-god. He lifted up the bridge and the soldiers on it began to fall off. I looked up to see one man alone on a horse. He began to swing his sword frantically but that did no good. The water crashed down on him as he let out a final scream. I sighed, relieved finally. I held my side and the pain returned. As I tried to step forward, I realized I could not move. I clutched my side and tried to hold my balance.
Edmund's POV:
I hear a groan and the smile on my face fades as I turn to Y/N. She's hurt, bad. I grabbed her before she could fall and I was just in time. She fell into me and I slowly picked her up. I made sure to avoid hurting her more. "It's going to be alright Y/N." She could barely respond and her eyes were fighting to stay open. I turn to the others with wide eyes, "We have to get her to Lucy, quickly." They all ran over to make sure she was supported. We began to go through the water and she gripped on to me tighter. "I've got you. It's going to be okay." She didn't respond and I turned to Lucy who quickly realized the situation and was running towards us. I tried to move as quickly through the water. "We're almost there, hang on." The others ran up to Lucy and I finally got her to shore. I set her down, not letting go of her hand. Lucy knelt down and put a drop from her cordial in her mouth. I moved her hair out of her face and a sick feeling came into my stomach. 'What if it's too late? I never told her I love her!' I thought as tears began to form in my eyes. "Please wake up, please."Y/N's POV:
My eyes flutter open and I see faces looking down at me. They all seem sad but then they all began to smile. Some of them were even crying. I turn to see Edmund and smile. "Can't get rid of me that easily." I say as he pulls me into a tight hug. He holds me, refusing to let go. "Ed I'm..." He quickly cups my face and kisses me. "I love you." I smile and put my hand on his cheek. "I love you, Edmund." We kiss again before someone clears their throat. We both turn fast, still holding each other, to see Peter motioning behind him. My eyes go wide and my face gets red. We all stand up and I try to stay behind but Edmund holds my hand and leads me along. We walk up to Aslan and Lucy joins him. He smiles at me and I bow. We all begin to kneel before him before he says, "Rise, kings and queens of Narnia." Peter, Susan, and Edmund all rise while Caspian and I stay knelt. "All of you." Caspian looks up. "I do not think I am ready." Aslan motions for me to get up and I do. I turn my attention to Caspian. "It's for that very reason I know that you are." I smile at him as he gets up, before I hear music coming from behind me. Several mice walk up, carrying Reepicheep on a small stretcher. Lucy gasps and quickly goes into action. She kneels beside him and gives a drop from her cordial. We all wait and he suddenly awakens. He sits up and looks at Lucy, "Oh, thank you, Your Majesty..." He notices Aslan and responds with, "Oh, hail Aslan! It is a great honor to be—" As he tries to bow, he stumbles forward and realizes that he's missing his tail. "I am completely out of countenance. I must crave your indulgence for appearing in this unseemly fashion. Perhaps a drop more?" He looks at Lucy. "I don't think it does that." Reepicheep sighs, "You can have a go." Aslan smiles at him. "It becomes you well, Small One." Reepicheep quickly responds. "All the same, great king, I regret that I must withdraw. For a tail is the honor and glory of a mouse." Aslan responds with, "Perhaps you think too much of your honor, friend." Reepicheep thinks for a moment, "Well, it's not just the honor. It's also great for balance... and climbing... and grabbing things." Aslan smiles. The other mice draw their swords and hold them to their tails. "May it please your high Majesty, we will not bear the shame of wearing an honor denied to our chief." Aslan laughs. "Not for your honor, but for the love of your people..." I see Reepicheep's tail grow back and smile at his reaction. "Oh, look! Thank you, thank you, my liege! I will treasure it always! From this day forward, it will serve as a great reminder of my huge humility." Aslan chuckles and then turns to Lucy. "Now, where is this dear little friend you've told me so much about?" I turn to see Trumpkin look over nervously. He slowly walks over and bows before Aslan. Aslan roars and Trumpkin shudders. "Do you see him now?" Lucy says to him and he looks down. I laugh and look at Edmund. He turns to me and smiles while wrapping his arm around me. Aslan turns to us, "I see you two have grown very fond of each other." Peter and Susan laugh and Lucy sticks her tongue out in disgust. "I'm very fond of him, my liege ." I say and Aslan nods. Caspian pats Edmund on the back.I look at my dress and straighten it out. Susan and Lucy walk over to me. "Are you ready?" I turn to them. "Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean I'm not royalty!" They laugh and Lucy smiles. "Not yet, anyways." My smile fades and I turn to her. "What's that supposed to mean?" They both laugh and my face gets red. I close my eyes and let out a breathe. "Okay I'm rea..." All of a sudden I hear laughing and the door swings open. It's Caspian, Peter, and Edmund. "Don't you knock?" Susan says, crossing her arms. Peter only laughed, "C'mon you girls are taking forever." They all laughed but I glared at Edmund and he stopped laughing. "That's what I thought." He nudged Peter and Caspian to stop laughing. "Right, sorry." Caspian says, sympathetically. Edmund walks over to me and smiles, "You look...beautiful." I stare at him with my arms crossed. "Hmm." I walk passed him and I walk out with Susan and Lucy. The boys were close behind us. We walk up to the horses and Edmund helps me up before joining me. I wrap my arms around his waist and burry my head in his shoulder. "I thought you were mad at me?" He says, sarcastically. "Oh don't worry, I still am." Caspian, now on his horse, looks back at us smiling. He's wearing a crown. "Ready?" Peter nods and we begin to make our way through the cheering crowd.
