Your eyes fluttered softly as you heard a beautiful melody in the distance. It was soothing and magical at the same time. It seemed to be calling to you beckoning you towards it. It was like when you opened a music box and admired all the precious jewels you had trying each one on as you heard the sweet sound play in the back.

The music sounded precious. Almost as if you had heard it before, perhaps in a dream. You recognized it but couldn't put your finger on it. It took you a moment to realize that you were no longer in the woods. That your surroundings had changed. Your senses slowly coming back to you. Feeling a new light sensation in your skin. You glance down and notice the most beautiful dress/tux. The way it was glistening with the light emitting from the room. Almost as if it was made specifically for you. Even the seams seemed to be perfect not one out of place. Then came feeling. It was nothing like you had ever felt before

You felt safe, delighted and like all the heavyweight you once had gone. There was no worry only the feeling of being calm. Then came vision. You glanced up noticing everyone looking thier best. People you've never seen before. But that didn't matter, nothing mattered at this moment. The way the twirled in sync with the music made you long to do the same. So before you knew it your feet began moving forward searching for something. Or a someone.

You had your hands clasped together in front of you as to avoid accidentally hitting or touching anybody who was dancing. Your eyes focused on every aspect of the room. The way the ladies heels clicked with each step. The way everyone seemed to have no care in the world. The way the music filled the air yet there seemed to be no band playing. Or at the very least not one you could see from where you were. You also had to be careful as for some strange reason the chandeliers seemed to be closer to the ground. Though that wasn't the strangest thing there. The walls were made of mirror and reflected everything from the room. You slowly approached one noticing the light makeup you had on. The way your hair was done so elegantly , the jewels that adorned you were fit for a king or queen. It was perfect everything you could have dreamed of was right here in this moment. All those nights of staying up late reading stories about princess attending a ball was finally a reality for you.

All of a sudden you became more conscious noticing that everyone there but you had a mask. Had you misplaced yours? Wait. Did you even have one to begin with. You couldn't really recall even being invited to this ball. The more you thought of it the weirder it seemed to you. All of a sudden you were snapped out of your thoughts by a man who seemed at least a foot taller then you tapped your shoulder and extended his arm and opened his hand towards you. He was slightly bent over with his over arm behind his back. Gesturing you to dance with him. What had you just been thinking of? Whatever it was it no longer seemed important to you. His mask had an exaggerated nose and defined brows all in the color of a green apple. His suit matched perfectly, the suit even had a little apple pin on it. Everyone here was dressed to perfection.

As if your body did it for you. You simply shook you head and gave an apologetic look. He wasn't what you were searching for. This action didn't seem to bother him as he swept the next girl who crossed in front of you to the dance floor. Another man stared at you as he passed. His mask only covered half of his face the other half was exposing his handsome features. His eyes seemed enchanting and he had a beautiful twinkle in his eye. It reminded you of the phantom of the opera. You would have danced if he asked you too. Walking forward you noticed two ladies blocking a man they grabbed onto his arms. One held a mirror up to his mask and the other played with diamonds on his jacket

His mask was different then most it was held up by a stick. It had long horns and looked evil. Almost as if the mask was a warning from the universe to tell you to stay away. Then it happened. Your eyes meet. He slowly lowered the mask down glancing at you from across the room. This was him. This was the person you were looking for. The second your eyes met it was as if the room went quiet.
