"Mickey, send help? My apartment. Quick." Jill needed her best friend urgently.
"10 minutes. Survive and open the door." Mickey was out of the door in a flash.
"Thank God you're here. Hold her for me. I urgently need the toilet." Jill handed the 1 year old to Mickey.
"Hello, tito Mickey! I missed you!" A 4 year-old came running up to Mickey and hugged his leg.
"Hey Jeri, I missed you too..." Mickey bent down to ruffle Jeri's hair.
"Did you come to save me and Kyla?" Jeri followed Mickey as he sat down carefully with the baby in his arms.
"I thought I was here to safe Jill but I think you and Kyla need the saving more, don't you?" Mickey patted the space next to him and Jeri climbed up and got comfy.
"Either way, you're a saviour." Jill re-appeared.
"How did this happen?" Mickey was confused as to why Jill was left alone with her nieces.
"Mama and ninang Tricia had to settle something so ninang Jill offered to take care of me and Kyla." The precocious 4 year-old answered in Jill's stead.
"Jeri's definitely Aika's daughter." Mickey loved how eloquent the 4 year-old was.
"And this little girl, is definitely a tinapay lover like her mama." Jill handed Kyla a small piece of bread and she immediately put it in her mouth. Kyla giggled, as if she understood what Jill was saying.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Mickey wiped Kyla's saliva with the towel on his shoulder. He'd learned the trick after his own nephew drooled all over his new shirt.
"Can we go for a walk?" Jeri turned to Jill.
"A walk?" Jill's eyes trembled.
"I saw that." Mickey teased.
"If anything happens to Jeri and Kyla while we're out, I'm dead meat. You know that." Jill whispered to Mickey.
"You hold Jeri, I'll hold Kyla. We'll steer clear of roads. I mean, look at her..." Mickey and Jill couldn't bring themselves to say no when Jeri was looking at them with puppy eyes.
"This is not going to fail on us suddenly right?" Jill was helping to strap Kayla into the baby carrier on Mickey's chest.
"I'll have my hands on her, I promise." Mickey assured Jill.
"Come on, Jeri. Let's get your shoes on and we can go." Jill handed Jeri her sandals before putting on a pair of socks for Kyla.
"Here goes nothing." Mickey and Jill took a deep breath as they stepped into the elevator of the apartment.
"Hold on to both our hands, Jeri." Jeri nodded at Jill's request and slid her tiny hands into both adults'.
"Any destination in mind, ladies?" It was a Friday afternoon in the busy streets of New York City.
"Jeri, shall we go to the grocery store nearby to get those cupcakes for tea?" Jill suggested.
"The chocolate chip ones? Yes please!" Jeri loved those cupcakes.
"To the store it is." Mickey and Jill held Jeri's hands and flew her across one of the drain covers, eliciting a giggle.

"How old are your babies? They are adorable!" An elderly couple asked Mickey and Jill. The two looked at each other and laughed.
