"So how are you and Tricia progressing?" Harper got straight to action the second Parker sat down next to his bed.

"What do you mean progressing? Tricia and I are just friends..." Parker choked on his water.

"But you have meals with her, go out with her and make her laugh...isn't that what boyfriends and girlfriends do?" Harper had question marks over his head.

"Just because we do that doesn't make us a couple, buddy. Friends do that as well." Parker explained.

"But you like Tricia and want to make her your girlfriend. Am I wrong?" Harper reasoned.

"Not wrong but not right either. I like Tricia but I don't think it's right of me to ask her to be my girlfriend. At least not now..." Parker bit his lip.

"Why not now?" Harper couldn't understand.

"Because it's not fair to Tricia if I cannot give her my 100%. In fact, she deserves more than my 100% ..." Parker sighed.

"Is it because of me?" Harper looked straight into his kuya's eyes.

"You're kuya's priority now, buddy. I want nothing more than for you to become strong and healthy again. Other things can wait. It's not your fault, buddy. It never was and will never be." Parker sat on Harper's bed, cupping his younger brother's cheeks.

"So if I get well quickly, you can date Tricia?" Harper wondered.

"We'll talk about it when you get well so can you promise kuya that'll you'll do your best to feel better soon?" Parker held out his pinky.

"For the sake of your love life, promise." Harper enthusiastically hooked his pinky with Parker.

"How's my favourite little fighter feeling today?" Tricia popped her head into the ward.

"Tricia!" Harper reached his hands out for a hug, which Tricia gladly accepted.

"Someone's looking energetic today?" Tricia was relieved to see Harper smiling, even though she'd come bearing bad news for the Gomez brothers.

"Because you're here, Tricia! Parker and I missed you when you weren't on duty, especially Parker!" Harper threw his kuya under the bus.

"I see..." Tricia looked at a blushing Parker with an amused expression.

"That's a nice pin you have there, Dr Tricia." Parker collected himself and pointed to the enamel pin Tricia had on her gown and lanyard.

"Thank you, Mr Gomez. A good friend of mine gifted it to me." Tricia chuckled, playing along.

"Is that good friend your boyfriend, Tricia?" Harper pretended not to know that Parker was the friend.

"Well, he is a boy..." Tricia looked at Parker, who had became shy again.

"Uh...maybe we'll wrap up this conversation here. What brings you here, Dr Tricia?" Parker cleared his throat.

"Are my test results in? Can I be discharged?" Harper looked at the envelope in Tricia's hands. Tricia and Parker exchanged looks. Tricia had already spilled the news to Parker.

"I spoke to Dr Carlos and he recommended that you stayed here for a while more. We're going to try another type of treatment to kill those cancer cells in your body..." Tricia hated to break the news.

"If I stay longer, will I get better for sure?" Harper was on the verge of tears.

"I can't promise you that but Dr Carlos and I are going to work really hard beside you..." Tricia didn't want to make false promises.
