My dad asked me to sit on Jiro's bed as my dad started talking. ''As you may know, it's your first day in school tomorrow so here are your uniforms'' He lends us the uniforms to us with both hands and leaves along with mom. Pretty much nothing happened later that night. I brushed my teeth and charged my phone for school tomorrow. I hung up my uniform on my door. The time is currently 12.07am on Sunday and I can't sleep because of how nervous I am for tomorrow but I finally fell asleep. The next morning I woke up by my alarm ringing so loud that I got tinnitus the second I woke up. I get up and put my slippers on like always. I go downstairs and see my parents making breakfast. ''Good Morning honey, eat some breakfast'' I sat down by the table with my family and ate. I get ready and head out with Jiro. We say bye to them as they wish us good luck. ''Mom told me that school is 30 minutes from here so we have to take the bus'' We walk straight to the bus station and hop on the bus. We walk out the bus as soon as we're in school. It was a huge building. There are so many students and all of them walk to their class as soon as the bell rings. Me and Jiro have to split up. I wave and run towards my classroom. I go straight to my class taking a deep breath before entering. The first thing I hear as I feel people staring at me are ''Oh speak of the devil.'' I look at the teacher with a mix of a frustrated and shocked face as I cross my arms and stand there like a statue. ''This is our new student Y/N. She's from Japan but can speak Korean as well. Y/N please have a seat next to Seo-Jun and Jeong-Hoon'' as she points with her finger on my seat. I look at Jeong-Hoon and feel as my body freezes. I can't move or talk at all. It's the weird guy from before whose name is Jeong-Hoon. He looks straight into my deep light brown eyes with his dark brown eyes. ''Y/N, can you hear me? Sit down please.'' Miss Eun says with a soft voice. Everyone turns around and looks at Jeong-Hoon after they realize that i'm staring at him. I bow and apologize. Miss Eun smiles as she continues with the lesson as I put my backpack on the floor and sit down. I focus on the board for a couple of seconds but then slip off. I look at the other boy sitting next to me. I have a question to ask but changed my mind. He looks very focused. I don't want to disturb him. I look around the class as everyone is focused and are writing. I don't know anyone here but Jeong-Hoon. I hesitate at first but go for it. ''Excuse me uh...What are we suppo--'' I couldn't finish my sentence because of my loud voice. ''Did you say something?'' he asks, blinking with his long eyelashes. ''It's uh...nevermind'' I say as I bite my tongue, turning my look towards the board again. I barely slept anything but finally the bell rings. Everyone packs their things and Miss Eun says in front of everyone ''Jeong-Hoon please show Y/N around'' as she smiles at me and lets all the students leave. Why exactly him and not anyone else from this whole class. ''Let's go'' he says while packing his school supplies. He leads me to the cafeteria for lunch. He takes two trays and gives me one. I take a plate and put it on my tray. The chefs put an orange slimy thing with rice on it. It looks gross but I don't want to seem ungrateful so I smile and bow. They smile back. Jeong-Hoon is very tall so he walks very quickly. I'm not even half as tall as him. I run after him carefully with my tray with food on it. He chooses an empty table next to the window. I put my tray down as I see the big green trees and the beautiful grass blowing outside. The sun is shining brightly on a warm August day. I zone out still standing up looking outside. I realize I look dumb and immedietely sit down. I look at Jeong-Hoon eating his slimy orange food. I look down on my plate while slowly picking up the fork with hesitation. I suddenly lost my appetite. ''Uh..what is this?'' I ask. ''It's kimchi rice, a very popular dish in Korea.'' ''Ahh....I see.'' I take some kimchi rice on my fork and dig in. I chew slowly with my full mouth looking at Jeong-Hoon. He looks up on me and slightly smiles. I look back on my plate with no hesitation. I swallow and give Jeong-Hoon a thumbs up. It was better than I had imagined. It was so good that it might be my favorite dish from now on. We finish our food and leave. I bow and smile to the chefs as I leave the cafeteria.
