Hook POV

Those bastards. He thought. He recognised the darts. They were his own. This could only mean one thing. His crew beat him there, and they have just hurt Ayla. He also realised something else: this was the first time she used his name. A warm feeling churned inside him, but he quickly snapped out of it. Ayla was in danger. He smelled the tip of the dart, there was a sweet pungent scent coming from it. He relaxed. It's only a tranquiliser. He exhaled. If it smelled sour, that would mean it is essentially poison. She wasn't going to die. There she was. Laying in his arms. His world was just in front of him. He wanted everything else to melt away. She looked so peaceful, her pale white skin almost glowed in the sunlight. She was so beautiful. He brushed her reddish brown hair out of her face to see it better.

The bushes behind him rustled. He quickly jerked around, gently put Ayla on the ground and stood up in front of her, sword in hand.

"Well well" Hook recognised Johnny's voice. He instantly became infuriated. His first mate turned out to be nothing but a filthy animal.

The branches moved and Johnny's silhouette appeared from the bushes. He was also holding a sword and a miniature crossbow. That was for the darts. Hook frowned.

"I thought I said I never wanted you to show your face again" Hook said glaring at him.

"Good thing I didn't come alone then" Johnny grinned.

The bushes all around the clearing rustled. And Hook saw every single one of his crew members slowly emerge. What worried Hook is that they all had weapons, and they were moving in a menacing manner.

"What is this?" Hook retorted, pivoting his gaze back to Johnny.

Johnny looked at him and smiled again

After a pause he said "We need her" while pointing at Ayla.

Hook looked at her and back at Johnny, raging in anger.

"You are going nowhere near her" he said and took a step forward towards Johnny. The second he moved, every single crew member around the clearing took a step towards him. Hook froze, this was not supposed to happen. What happened to loyalty.

"You're not scaring me." he said

"I know we aren't," retorted Johnny, "but if we threaten her..." Almost instantly everyone pointed their weapon in Ayla's direction. Hook widened his eyes. She looked so fragile, lying there, unconscious. "Yeah Hook. I saw you how you defended her back at the ship, you care about her more than you should, that is your weakness"

"Why do you need her?" he said. He was now scared but he wouldn't show it.

Johnny laughed "I wouldn't be a proper treasure would it, if it wasn't guarded by Pan" Hook was confused for a second "we need her to open the entrance to the treasure, she's a Pan, she's the only one who can open it" he paused, then added "dead or alive" with a revolting smile.

Hook was petrified. He knew that was true. If only I had the ring, this would all be over. He regretted leaving it now.

"So, drop your weapon and follow us or she dies" said Johnny slyly.

Hook didn't want to obey anyone, especially not this crook. He didn't move.

After a pause, Johnny realised Hook wasn't going to give in easily.

"Very well" he said as he took another dart out of his pocket and loaded it into his crossbow. "This one is sour Hook." he laughed. Hook didn't want to move again, but he realised he would soon have to.

Johnny didn't say anything, he pointed his crossbow at Ayla.

I have no choice. He didn't want to take chances.

"Stop" Hook resonated, and after a short pause he lifted his hands in the air and dropped his sword on the ground. He heard the impact of the blade on the floor, and realised that it was the sound of defeat. He lowered his head.

He heard everyone around him laugh and cheer, Johnny especially loud.

"Ya see lads, I told you he had a weakness"

That just angered Hook even more, especially because Johnny was right.

"Alright on we go" Johnny said and gestured with his hand to a path in the bushes. Some of his crew members walked towards Ayla.

"Don't!" He yelled. He didn't trust those men with her. She was far too precious to him.

"Oi. Everyone takes my orders here. If I say they take her, they take her. Or else.." he pointed his crossbow at her again and chuckled. He turned away and started walking into the wild bushes. Hook walked along while cursing internally.

How. How could things be like this? This is shameful. Every single one of my crew members turned away from me, all because of Johnny. He looked back at the two men carrying Ayla, making sure they didn't hurt her. He wanted to kill Johnny, he ruined everything. Angry thought swirled in Hooks mind while they walked

It took only a few minutes to reach the cave. As expected the entrance was sealed. It was on a beach with palm trees around it.

Johnny made a whistle signal. And simultaneously, the two men holding Ayla tied her to a palm tree with ropes.

"Hey!" called out Hook and ran towards her. A split second later, he felt a sharp pain along his foot and stumbled upon himself, unable to move. Johnny shot a dart, not the same as he used on Ayla, but a paralysing one. Hook suppressed grunts of pain. Johnny quickly grabbed his wrists and tied him to the opposite palm tree as well.

Although Hook had no way out, he would never accept defeat.

He couldn't do anything except hear Johnny laugh.

He suddenly saw slight movement from the corner of his eye at the palm tree a few feet away from him. Ayla. She started to wake up, she opened her eyes and lifted her head up. Dazed.

"Ayla!" Hook yelled. He felt overjoyed to see her conscious again.
