In the inbetween space between late night and early morning
where the shadows are woven with warm glow of distant open windows
I found a colony of baby arachnids spread over a silk net
a web that streatched over, seemingly, my entire home
it's indegnified, but I was afraid
my skin seemed to bloom open as to let them in
and I squirmed in your old shirt
aware of the vulnerability of my bare legs.
My sleep was peaceful
This morning I went to where the monsters where lolling
and I saw them for all that they were
simple and delicate creatures~
I let them be.
This summer I'll let them wind down on their shimmering threads to sleep on my sheets
(something in me has always attracted spiders)
